Amazing Experience

Food was amazing, as well as our tour guide, Fran. She was very knowledgeable and showed us a great time despite the very small group.

Tone was amazing. Great...

Tone was amazing. Great food choices, we were lucky with a fun group as well. The wine was free flowing and we got our money worth. Would recommend to anyone, but only of you ask for Tone.

Freeflowin in Rome

Just home from Italy and this was certainly the highlight of my Rome visit. There were many reasons why but they fall within three pillars: 1) The Guide. The experience is always amplified through a guide that is knowledgeable, friendly and conversational. Leila, if you read this - you are a treasure! She had the pacing down like clockwork, and gave everyone time to breathe and savor each stop in between the informative overviews of each stop. 2) The Itinerary. All four stops were outstanding. The staff at each stop was friendly and invitational, and clearly welcomed our presence. I am sure some of these groups can be daunting while trying to serve other customers. And the food...my lord, the food. Pizza sandwiches (wut wut?), charcuturie (pass the truffle oil yo), and a comfortable sit-down for pasta with several options, where I enjoyed the best carbonara of our life. And at that same spot they served pizza after the pasta because of course they did. Capped with a creamy gelato. Magnifique. (Oh wait, that's French...) 3) The People: Often I have found the groups in these food and drink tours to be a mixed bag of personalities, which can make the conversation feel forced or awkward. We lucked out on this one - the people were awesome. A lovely family of five and two younger couples, which made me as the middle-aged solo traveler the off-center uncle by default. (It's a role I play well I suppose.) The wine did indeed flow freely, but everyone was open and comfortable from the start. I would add that if you are one of those "sippers," this tour may not be for you. They like to pour. A good time for sure.
