Know before you book
- We are unable to accommodate guests with wheelchairs or any impairments requiring special assistance.
- We are unable to accommodate strollers or baby carriages on our tour.
- This tour is not suitable for those who suffer from claustrophobia and/or vertigo, heart or other serious medical conditions.
- The dome’s elevator only takes you to the first terrace. In order to climb to the top of the dome you will have to use stairs (320 steps)
- There is no skip-the-line to the Dome’s ticket office or at St. Peter’s Basilica’s security line, hence there may be some waiting time before we access the dome.
Know before you go
- It is the responsibility of all visitors to be at the meeting point 15 minutes before departure.
- Our City Wonders coordinators will holding a sign and wearing blue City Wonders polo shirts or jackets to be easily recognizable at the meeting point.
- Entrance into the Basilica and Dome complex requires a strict dress code. Knees and shoulders MUST be covered for both men and women.

Notre guide à la journée, Américain, était très professionnel et mêlait l'humour à ses informations érudites. Le chauffeur du bus était impeccable lui aussi. En revanche, la visite de Pompéi a été décevante : le jeune guide italien était à peine audible à cause de son filet de voix et d'un matériel audio de qualité médiocre. Dans notre groupe de six, deux personnes étaient anglophones et ne comprenaient pourtant presque pas ce que racontait le guide. Dommage. Heureusement, la beauté du site se suffit à elle-même... Enfin, nous avons apprécié la propriétaire de la boutique de limoncello pour son enthousiasme communicatif.
Elizabeth was so sweet and she knew her stuff. I appreciated her detail for bathrooms and cleanliness, recommendations for the best photos and her sharing just enough without talking the entire time.
Albert was awesome. Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

Please note that the dome’s elevator only takes you to the first terrace. In order to climb to the top of the dome you will have to use stairs (320 steps). Please allow yourself approximately 20 extra minutes if you wish to climb up to the dome of St Peters from there.
