Know before you book
- We are unable to accommodate guests with wheelchairs or any impairments requiring special assistance.
- We are unable to accommodate strollers or baby carriages on our tour.
- This tour is not suitable for those who suffer from claustrophobia and/or vertigo, heart or other serious medical conditions.
- The dome’s elevator only takes you to the first terrace. In order to climb to the top of the dome you will have to use stairs (320 steps)
- There is no skip-the-line to the Dome’s ticket office or at St. Peter’s Basilica’s security line, hence there may be some waiting time before we access the dome.
Know before you go
- It is the responsibility of all visitors to be at the meeting point 15 minutes before departure.
- Our City Wonders coordinators will holding a sign and wearing blue City Wonders polo shirts or jackets to be easily recognizable at the meeting point.
- Entrance into the Basilica and Dome complex requires a strict dress code. Knees and shoulders MUST be covered for both men and women.

Il ne faut pas s’attendre à une visite en « petit » groupe comme mentionné dans l’annonce car nous étions une cinquantaine dans le bateau de plusieurs nationalités. Le seul moment en petit groupe était sur Burano pour la découverte de petit endroit avec la guide. La découverte du souffleur de verre faisait plus attraction en grand groupe (la cinquantaine de personnes du bateau) que découverte à proprement parler de cet art.
Fomos bem dirigidos pelo motorista até Pompeia onde o nosso guia nos encontrou. Ficaram muitos locais que o guia não nos mostrou e outros guias estavam a levar seus participantes. A viagem é lindíssima, ruínas, vulcão, explicação histórica. Nossa única questão de desagrado foi termos sido levados a um restaurante por indicação do guia todos participantes foram pois havia pouco tempo para o ônibus sair. Lá foi informado que teríamos um desconto, mas na verdade só nos ofereceram uma opção de comida e não permitiram ver o cardápio, quando outros fregueses tinham acesso e nós não. Em suma, foi um bom passeio com custo benefício, só fica a dica para não irem em restaurantes por indicação. Levem água, sombrinha, boné… sapatos adequados.
A very different side of Rome! Yes, a bit creepy, but oh so fascinating. We truly enjoyed seeing this side of the history of Rome. Our guide was very informative and answered all our questions. Would definitely recommend this tour. Bonus in July was the cool temperature in the catacombs!

Please note that the dome’s elevator only takes you to the first terrace. In order to climb to the top of the dome you will have to use stairs (320 steps). Please allow yourself approximately 20 extra minutes if you wish to climb up to the dome of St Peters from there.
