Taste Strasbourg like a local
Discover Strasbourg through its flavours on a relaxed gourmet walk that blends history, culture and Alsatian recipes. With a passionate local guide, you’ll explore the old town as you taste your way through specialties shaped by both French and German traditions.

Alsatian treats and market atmosphere
As you stroll past canals, squares and half‑timbered houses, you’ll stop at carefully chosen shops, stalls or cafés to sample cured meats, local cheeses and Alsace wines, along with sweet classics like buttery kouglof brioche and spiced pain d’épices. On market days, the tour can weave past colourful stands piled with seasonal produce, adding extra local colour to the experience.

Historic streets, iconic sights
Your route leads through the pedestrian historic centre, with views of Strasbourg’s soaring cathedral, elegant squares such as Place Gutenberg and the picturesque lanes of Petite France. Between tastings, your guide shares stories about how river trade, wine routes and Christmas markets turned Strasbourg into a culinary crossroads of Europe.

A small, gourmet adventure
This is a small‑scale, guided tasting tour, designed so you can chat with your guide, ask questions and pick up practical tips—from how locals enjoy tarte flambée to which wines pair best with strong Alsatian cheeses. Both contrasting vineyards were excellent and very informative. We would definitely recommend this trip to others. The only thing that could improve the tour would be little snacks eg cheese and pretzels etc

We cannot say enough nice thing about this tour and Matt! Matt was knowledgeable, personable, engaging and organized. To keep two history buffs engaged for 8 hours is not easy, but Matt did an absolutely wonderful job. This tour was with every penny and then some. Thank you, Matt, for making our trip to Normandy so meaningful. And Go Bears!

Additional information

This tour is best for food‑loving travelers who want to understand Strasbourg through its flavours as much as its monuments. It’s ideal for couples, friends and small adult groups who enjoy trying local specialties, sipping Alsace wines, and hearing the stories behind recipes, markets and family‑run shops. Curious first‑time visitors and repeat guests alike who prefer small, guided experiences over big group tours will especially appreciate the chance to talk with a passionate local, ask questions, and discover places they probably wouldn’t find on their own.

Please note that this tour features a fixed selection of traditional Alsatian foods and wines, so we are unable to adapt tastings for dietary restrictions or food allergies.
