Fun indoor trip
Cute nice spot to view the NYC and take great pics with family friends or solo. Food and drink at the end if your interested
Wonderful view on the top
Go in first or second tour of the day to avoid extra crowds so you can take better pictures. We were there 8.30 and only few people were there.
Medicore
There’s not much to see you go through a couple of experiences and the lines are long the rooms are packed, we got yelled at and got attitude from a couple of employees
Negative
Security guard being rude when l walk into the wrong direction for security check. The security guard leaned backwards to block me and his arm touched my neck and face. Complain and got kicked out. Never experienced such a rude and aggressive behavior at New York other landmarks. Will definitely rate this as the most unpleasant experience.
SUMMIT One Vanderbilt - a NOT SO GREAT Experience.
We wanted to do a rooftop experience on a recent 'friends-trip' to NYC, and we decided to book SUMMIT One Vanderbilt for a later evening excursion. Maybe it's because we were in the last block at 10pm, but a majority of the staff were so dismissive and rude; it really affected our experience at the tower. The staff on the ground floor were nice, although we noted many people were just sitting around after entering the initial turnstile because no one was directing the flow of foot traffic to where they needed to access the elevator to go up. TBH, it felt a little self-indulgent walking through a video room of "we built this because we could," then a Willy-Wonka-esque ride up to the top of the tower, but I get it, it's an "experience." The space and view from the top is legit awesome. At night, this place was lit up and mega-impressive. Our vibe was shattered pretty quickly, as after about 10 minutes of looking down at the city, a staff member was shouting through the space "You need to leave this area, keep walking around the corner. You need to leave this area." We walked up and asked him why we need to leave the area, as it was 10:20pm and it said open hours were until midnight, and he very curtly responded, "There are more floors and we need to clear this floor right now, do you get it?!" No. No, we didn't get it, because no one had explained that there were multiple floors or that certain areas would close early, but whatever, we moved on. Staff members continued to usher people quickly through the remaining two floors, and while we saw many customers asking for clarification on the mini-experiences, staff members continued to rudely say they were closing soon and to hurry through. My personal breaking point of the night was when we were heading toward the third floor and removed our shoe-covers at this area where there were multiple trash receptacles to put your shoe covers in. They had a staff member arriving with a trash bag (which I assumed was to clean up at the end of the night as it was 10:50 at that point), as I was putting my shoe covers in one of the trash cans, he literally grabbed them from out of my hand, and rudely shouted to the people around me, "PUT these into THIS trashbag," and shoved them into the empty trash bag he was carrying. Sorry SUMMIT, it was an amazing view, but not a fan of the it's-a-late-night-get the hell out of here-vibes from some of the staff. Not worth the $$$.
