A rushed tour

Sites were great but trip was rushed at every stop. Driver drove very fast all day and overtook everything in front while giving the commentary and pointing to things to see. He kept saying we could take photos from the van but he didn’t slow down to allow this.

An Extravaganza of Icebergs and more

Though this tour involved a 2 hour ride each way it was excellent! We were delighted we booked it. During the motor coach ride we saw spectacular scenery, and were much entertained and educated by our guide Eva. (Eva had also been our guide for the equally super tour from Seydisfjordur.) The stops along the way were beautiful and gave welcome leg stretches. At the Glacier Lagoon, even before we got off the bus everyone was saying "WOW!" My husband called it an extravaganza of icebergs. We had never seen so many in a fairly small area. We throughly enjoyed our time there, wishing we had evem more time. A bonus for the area was that there was a type of geocaching called an Earth Cache. There was also a type of geocache called an Adventure Lab but we did not have enough time to do that. There was the option to ride the bus from the Glacier Lagoon to Diamond Beach or to walk. Eva gave excellent directions for the walk. It was along some of the lagoon, alomng the short river which had quite the current, undder the road bridge, then to the black sand beach. There was anotehr Earth geocache there . We did not have enough time to walk to the water's edge and walk amongst the grounded small icebergs at Diamond Beach before it was time to board the bus. On the way back, Eva called ahead to a restaurant in Hofn most for lobster soup The pleasure did not end there. Back in town, there was enough time to see the famous stone eggs, and for a surprise in one of the old tanks. The weather today was perfect: sunny. We ere happy we had brought warm hats and wore layers it was true. Would we recommend this tours to others? Absolutely YES.

Just right length, nice trip

Our guide Petra was very flexible, helpful and nice guide. The trip was neither too long, nor too short. All the places were nicely selected. I would only advice to pick a bit more for only-icelanders known facts as much of the information has already been known from touristic websites. But it’s a minor thing. Overall, happy with the trip
