Amazing

We did a walking tour of Downtown Manhattan covering Chinatown, Little Italy and the surrounding historic areas, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip to New York. Our guide was knowledgeable without making it feel like a history lecture, and the pace was just right. We learned a lot about how the different immigrant communities helped shape New York, from the early days of Little Italy to the growth and culture of Chinatown today. There were loads of interesting stories and details that we would have completely missed if we’d just wandered around on our own. What I particularly liked was how the tour mixed history, architecture, food culture and modern-day New York. Walking through streets that have changed so much over the years while hearing the stories behind them really brought the city to life. The contrast between the bustling streets of Chinatown and the old-world character of Little Italy was fascinating. The guide was happy to answer questions and clearly knew the area inside out. Even though we’d already spent a few days exploring Manhattan, we still came away having learned a lot. If you’re visiting New York and want to understand more about the city beyond the famous landmarks, I’d highly recommend this tour. It’s a great way to see a different side of Manhattan and get a deeper appreciation for the history and culture of the neighbourhoods.
