Itinerary
The rough and wild lava field of Berserkjahraun makes for a viewing of a quintessential Icelandic landscape. The lavafield was formed over 4000 years ago and features in many of the world-renown marvels of medieval literature, the Icelandic sagas,
This is the most famous mountain in Iceland, together with the close by waterfall Kirkjufellsfoss it is a perfect picture location. Well maintained pathways mean that you can easily wander around the sight and marvel at the natural beauty.
Snæfellsjökull National Park, located on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in western Iceland, is renowned for its stunning landscapes and geological features. Established in 2001, the park is dominated by the Snæfellsjökull volcano, topped by a glacier and famously featured in Jules Verne's *Journey to the Center of the Earth*. The park includes rugged coastlines, lava fields, and diverse flora and fauna, offering hiking trails and breathtaking views. It also contains cultural and historical sites, such as ancient fishing villages and Viking settlements, making it a popular destination for nature and history enthusiasts.
See the black sand beach Djúpalónssandur with it's rich history. Once a popular area for fishing, the sea is now empty as boats have moved elsewhere. All that remains is the wreckage of a British trawler on the black sands, and several 'lifting stones'. These lifting stones would have been used to test the strength of potential fishermen and now you can try and see if you would have made the cut too!
Wonderful rock formation, the rocks are 75 and 61 meters tall. Rising out of the artic ocean these two rock pinnacles of volcanic plugs of basalt are a truly stunning work of nature.
Arnarstapi is a quirky and cute Icelandic fishing village with a rich history dating back to the vikings. Enjoy a breathtaking walk along the coastline with outstanding sea cliffs populated with an unusual variety of seabirds. The area makes the perfect place to take photos and take in the raw beauty of Iceland.
Unlike the other beach on this tour, Djúpalónssandur, this beach has the golden sand more familiar to visitors from overseas. Ytri Tunga is notable more for the seal colonies that can be seen lolling about the rocks just offshore.
Budir Black Church is a striking little church set in a desolate landscape. It´s a popular subject for photographers and you will have a chance to capture if on this short photo stop.

A very full day (11 hours). Guide was very informative. We had multiple stops for lunch and personal needs.
Snaefellsnes Peninsula tour is exceptional and worth it.
Bustravel was the tour operator - excellent experience. The driver Dooley was exceptionally good. Tour matched my expectations.
Fun-filled experience
Enjoyed this trip and VJERAN made sure it is enjoyable and worth the money and the time. We covered a lot of places (i believe with some extra stops!). We were taken care of. Highly recommended. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Full day, full experience, fully worth it!
Alain was an amazing tour guide! We had a full whirlwind day and really packed a lot in. He offered us so much information- history, language, stories, sagas, myths, geology, and he even sang us a couple of Icelandic folk songs! The bus was comfy and I always felt like I had the time I needed at each stop.
