See the black sand beach Djúpalónssandur with it's rich history. Once a popular area for fishing, the sea is now empty as boats have moved elsewhere. All that remains is the wreckage of a British trawler on the black sands, and several 'lifting stones'. These lifting stones would have been used to test the strength of potential fishermen and now you can try and see if you would have made the cut too!

Great excursion!

Mikel was a fantastic tour guide! Very knowledgeable and funny. He made sure we had frequent restroom breaks and was mindful of the temperature on the bus. He told us the most interesting stories about the areas we visited! Great excursion!

Full day, full experience, fully worth it!

Alain was an amazing tour guide! We had a full whirlwind day and really packed a lot in. He offered us so much information- history, language, stories, sagas, myths, geology, and he even sang us a couple of Icelandic folk songs! The bus was comfy and I always felt like I had the time I needed at each stop.
