Established in 2001, the park is dominated by the Snæfellsjökull volcano, topped by a glacier and famously featured in Jules Verne's *Journey to the Center of the Earth*. The park includes rugged coastlines, lava fields, and diverse flora and fauna, offering hiking trails and breathtaking views. It also contains cultural and historical sites, such as ancient fishing villages and Viking settlements, making it a popular destination for nature and history enthusiasts.
At this location are you surrounded by a lava field. The beach contains of very round stones and you'll have a great view on Snaefellsjokull in good weather conditions.
Amazing rock formation in the ocean, the rocks are 75 and 61 meters tall and make you feel like you are in the country of elves and trolls.
Arnarstapi is a small fishing village that sits at the base of the Stapafell mountain in the Snæfellsnes peninsula. The place names of the villages in this region originate from the Icelandic sagas which are some of the oldest examples of literature to have com out of Europe. In particular the place names here draw from the saga of Bárðar who was a half man, half ogre said to have lived in this area. The beautiful walk along the coast will give you the chance to truly dip in into this amazing landscape

Wonderful trip!
A fantastic day tour with Vjeran! He is passionate, helpful and knows every hidden gem in Iceland. Truly a wonderful experience.
Beautiful view, worth visiting
The weather is good, the view is beautiful, spectacular! The schedule is tight, some attractions take too little time to take photos, if the time is too short, it's perfect! The guide is very friendly, if you type a name, the name of the tourist group will be better, because there are 3 buses at the same time, it is more difficult to find at the beginning
Snæfellsnes Peninsula
We were incredibly fortunate that our guide Giuseppe is an actual geologist. So knowledgeable about volcanoes and was able to describe in detail the geologic landscape we observed. The tour was very well run and interesting with some of the most extraordinary landscape we have ever seen. And our driver was super handy with dealing with a minor medical issue. Would definitely recommend.
Amazing Tour with an Excellent Guide Vjeran
We had an amazing experience on this Snæfellsnes tour! The scenery was absolutely stunning — Kirkjufell, the black sand beaches, and all the stops along the way felt unreal. Our guide, Vjeran, made the trip even better. He was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about Icelandic nature, history, and local culture. He explained everything clearly, kept the atmosphere fun during the long drive, and made sure everyone was comfortable throughout the day. The tour was well organized, the timing at each stop was great, and we never felt rushed. You can really tell Vjeran enjoys what he does, and his positive energy made the whole experience memorable.
