Silver Circle: Into the Glacier & Krauma | Full Day Tour

This is the best version of a Silver Circle day that exists. You go inside Langjökull — ice tunnels, chambers, the cold weight of a glacier above you. Monster trucks take you up. Specialist guides walk you through it. An hour of blue ice.Then you come down, drive 40 minutes to Deildartunguhver, and end the day in geothermal pools fed by the world's most powerful natural hot spring. The contrast is not accidental. Moving from the cold interior of a glacier to the warmth of geothermal water in the same afternoon is one of the more distinctly Icelandic experiences available anywhere. Your guide explains both — the glaciology on the way up, the geothermal geology at the spring. Krauma gives you the experience itself: six heated pools, cold plunge, steam room, views. The route covers Deildartunguhver, Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls, and Húsafell village before the glacier.
