Itinerary
Starting from Madrid, we will head to Segovia, a small city that will surprise us from the moment we get off the bus. Those who have chosen the option “on your own” will be able to enjoy the city at their own pace. The guide will inform you of the meeting point and the exact time of return to Madrid, so that you can organize your time with total convenience. This option includes the entrance to the Cathedral, allowing you to visit it on your own during your stay in Segovia. For those who have chosen “with Cathedral and Alcázar” and “with Alcázar”, the guided walking tour will begin at the imposing Aqueduct of Segovia, one of the best-preserved Roman engineering works in the world, dating back more than 2,000 years. You will discover how it was built without cement and the route that the water took to reach the heart of the city.
Pass by: From there, we will walk up to the Plaza Mayor, enjoying the charm of historic streets and iconic monuments such as the Casa de los Picos, with its 617 granite peaks, and the Plaza Medina del Campo, where you will find the Church of San Martín, built in 1117, and the Lozoya Tower, which you can visit at your own pace and from which you will have breathtaking views of Segovia.
Once we arrive to the Plaza Mayor we will find different monuments that will impress us, such as the Town Hall, the Juan Bravo Theatre and the Cathedral of Segovia, where those who have purchased the “with Cathedral and Alcázar” option will have a complete guided tour of its interior. At the end of the visit to the Cathedral you will have some free time to enjoy Segovia at your leisure.
At the appointed time, we will meet again at the Plaza Mayor. It will be time to head towards the Alcázar of Segovia, one of the most famous and well preserved medieval castles in the world. The Alcázar probably reminds you of some Disney castles, as its exterior architecture served as inspiration for some of Walt Disney's films, such as Cinderella's Castle or the Queen's Castle in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Traveler reviews
Disappointed
When we arrived at the meeting point yesterday we were told by the agent at Julia Travel Madrid that the tour was canceled and that they had made Tripadvisor aware of the situation 24 hours earlier. Yet, I was sent a constant reminder by TripAdvisor that the tour was proceeding. I was very disappointed on missing out on our tour and also the lack of professionalism displayed. I am still awaiting a refund.
The tour itself was...
The tour itself was great. Very beautiful town and amazing historical structures. Our tour guide Irene was good giving the tour both in English and Spanish. **My reason giving it a 1 star review was the treatment my family got from an agency tour guide (not ours). Another tour leaving at the same time as ours (3PM- Toledo bound 5/18/2026) name of tour guide Jorge Cortez (name given by the agency) was very rude and disrespectful towards my family members. While walking towards the bus, this tour guide disrespected my father by calling him "slow walker" and telling my mother " you should have married a guy that can walk faster"... That's called AGEISM! Do they know what ageism is? Discrimination against elderly people. We understand that Spanish people have a very "raw" sense of humor but that was very uncalled for and disrespectful. My family has done many tours thru different agencies and have never been treated so unkind. I do not recommend this agency- Julia Travel Madrid. When we spoke about our encounter, all they said was the name of the tour guide and to write a review. If your party has elderly members be ready to get discriminated and made fun of in front of the tour group. Do not recommend!!! Unprofessional and Discrimination to the fullest!
Outstanding!!
Segovia is a jewel and a must see for sure if you re visiting the Madrid area! Our tour guide, Mariana who works for Julia Travel was absolutely outstanding. She was super knowledgeable regarding the history of Segovia and delivered the information very clearly in flawless English and Spanish. I’m also fluent in both and can attest to it. She made the tour A+++. The bus was very comfortable.
Visit the shops, skip the attraction tickets
If you don’t buy a ticket for inside the castle or Cathedral, ask the tour guide for the meeting time. It is such a unique area with so many wonderful looking shops and restaurants in the area that I wish that would have been suggested that as an option to do. .
Memorable trip to Segovia
I’m glad I booked this tour at the last minute. Marianna is very knowledgeable. We enjoyed every minute of the tour.
