Full description
What you’ll drink
A slushy cocktail, a Moscow mule, a Margarita, and a glass of bubbles to finish. Each one paired with a bite chosen by your guide — because a chef picking the food to match the drink is a different thing from a bar crawl where you eat whatever’s on the counter.
Drinks and stops shift with the season and the guide, so take that as a strong example rather than a fixed lineup.
Where you’ll go
South Lake Union after 5PM, when the Amazon and Google campuses empty out and the neighborhood turns into somewhere people actually go. Five local spots within walking distance of each other, several of which you’d never find on your own. Your guide knows the bartenders.
Why a progressive happy hour
You get five places in the time most people spend at one. It’s a good way to see a neighborhood, a genuinely good first night in Seattle, and it works for a group that can’t agree on a restaurant.
Good to know
Two hours, Fridays and Saturdays, 5–7pm. Small groups! Most of the tour is indoors, which matters here between October and June. We can’t accommodate children on this one, and dogs won’t work either since they’re not allowed at most stops.

Reviews
Fun, informative & yummy
Nels was an awesome market guide. Very knowledgeable and made sure everyone was taken care of during our tour. We were traveling with my family and had a stroller so we very much appreciated Nels accommodating us. The food samples were plentiful and delicious. We learned not only about the history of the market but also many interesting Seattle facts. Thank you, Nels. If you are thinking about it, don’t hesitate to book this chef guided tour.
This was my first food tour and I loved it! We got to try so many more different things than we would’ve on our own. The truffles were a pleasant surprised. We loved them so much we went back to buy some to take home. The chowder was amazing! And the Hellenika frozen treat was delicious! Chef Noah was an excellent tour guide. He was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about the food as well as the history of Seattle. He also provided an email to reach out for questions and recommendations which I did and he responded right away! I would highly recommend this tour.
