Full description

As twilight settles over Savannah’s Historic District, Savannah After Dark: A Haunted Donut & Sweet Treats Walking Tour invites you to see the city the way locals know it best, once the sun goes down. The crowds fade, the streets quiet, and the glow of gas lamps gives everything a slightly mysterious feel. This late-night walk blends comforting sweets with Savannah’s famously haunted past for an experience that feels cozy, spooky, and genuinely fun.

We kick things off with warm, pillowy beignets at Toast. Lightly dusted with powdered sugar, they’re the perfect way to ease into the night while your guide starts sharing stories from Savannah’s early days. You’ll hear about long-gone residents, strange encounters, and why this city has earned its reputation as one of the most haunted places in the South.

From there, we stroll through historic squares shaded by moss-draped oaks, stopping along the way to enjoy a variety of sweet treats. Expect a mix of flaky pastries, creamy frozen desserts, and classic Southern candies that locals have loved for generations. Each stop brings something different to the table, keeping the experience playful and surprising. Between bites, your guide fills the walk with ghost stories, legends, and bits of history tied directly to the streets, buildings, and neighborhoods around you.

As the evening goes on, Savannah grows quieter, which only adds to the atmosphere. You’ll sample warm churros dusted with cinnamon sugar, nostalgic sweets straight from the riverfront, and other indulgent treats that somehow taste even better late at night. The pace stays relaxed, with plenty of time to enjoy each stop, take photos, and soak in the mood of the city after dark.

We end the tour on a high note with iconic local cookies from Byrds. Simple, delicious, and deeply tied to Savannah’s food scene, they’re the perfect final bite. By this point, you’ll have eaten your way through the Historic District, picked up stories most visitors never hear, and experienced Savannah in a way that feels personal and memorable.

Savannah After Dark is part dessert crawl, part ghost walk, and completely unforgettable. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or you’ve lived here for years, this tour offers a fresh way to explore the city, one sweet bite and spooky story at a time.

The tour was quite long and it was difficult to keep the kids engaged. The donut store was the best stop where we got to choose a donut. At the rest of the stops the food items were pre ordered and we didn’t get a choice which was a bit disappointing. I was also unhappy that the tour ended at a different location to the starting point - we were handed a map and had to find our own way back. Having never been to Cork before, this wasn’t particularly easy and we had to run to catch our train back to Cobh.

Kat was a great guide. The donuts were delicious and she also included a lot of history of Toronto. The walk was an easy pace and gave us time to prepare for the next round. She provided us with other places to taste Toronto food and there was time to grab some of that food too. We loved the tour and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Toronto!
