Full description

Your San Diego sweet adventure begins in the heart of Little Italy, one of the city’s most vibrant and delicious neighborhoods. Over the next two hours, we’ll explore this historic district on foot, sampling incredible donuts and sweet treats while discovering the food, history, architecture, and culture that make Little Italy one of San Diego’s must-visit destinations.

We’ll kick things off with freshly made donuts from a local favorite. Known for creative flavors and seriously delicious creations, our first stop sets the bar high and gives us the perfect fuel for exploring the neighborhood.

From there, we’ll head deeper into Little Italy. Once home to generations of Italian families who built their lives around San Diego’s tuna fishing industry, the neighborhood has transformed into a bustling destination filled with restaurants, cafés, shops, public spaces, and reminders of its Italian heritage. Along the way, your guide will share stories about the people and industries that helped shape this part of the city.

Our second stop switches things up with Italian-inspired sweets. Expect decadent pastries and treats that connect perfectly with the neighborhood around us. With something delicious in hand, we’ll continue through the colorful streets of Little Italy, passing lively plazas, public art, and some of the neighborhood’s most recognizable sights.

Next, we’ll visit another local bakery for a completely different sweet experience. Depending on the day, you might encounter freshly baked pastries, cakes, or another specialty selected for the tour. Each stop offers something unique, giving you a taste of both San Diego’s modern food scene and the Italian influences found throughout the neighborhood.

For our final stop, it’s back to donuts, and we’re finishing big. Expect bold flavors, oversized creations, and plenty of personality for one last indulgent bite. It’s a fitting finale to a tour built around discovering just how creative San Diego can get with its sweets.

Come hungry and ready to explore. This family-friendly walking tour combines delicious donuts, Italian-inspired pastries, Little Italy history, neighborhood sights, local culture, and plenty of fun into one unforgettable San Diego experience.

The tour was quite long and it was difficult to keep the kids engaged. The donut store was the best stop where we got to choose a donut. At the rest of the stops the food items were pre ordered and we didn’t get a choice which was a bit disappointing. I was also unhappy that the tour ended at a different location to the starting point - we were handed a map and had to find our own way back. Having never been to Cork before, this wasn’t particularly easy and we had to run to catch our train back to Cobh.

Kat was a great guide. The donuts were delicious and she also included a lot of history of Toronto. The walk was an easy pace and gave us time to prepare for the next round. She provided us with other places to taste Toronto food and there was time to grab some of that food too. We loved the tour and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Toronto!
