Private Half-Day Saint-Émilion Wine Tour from Bordeaux

Experience one of Bordeaux’s most iconic wine regions on a private half-day Saint-Émilion wine tour from Bordeaux, combining a guided visit to a Grand Cru Classé winery with a walking tour of the UNESCO-listed village. Travel in a premium air-conditioned vehicle with a WSET-certified driver-guide and discover the history, terroir, and wines of Saint-Émilion in a seamless and expertly curated itinerary.

Discover Saint-Émilion, a UNESCO World Heritage Wine Village

Located on a limestone plateau overlooking the Dordogne Valley, Saint-Émilion is one of the most historic and picturesque wine villages in France. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999, it was the first wine region in the world to receive this distinction.

During your guided walking tour of Saint-Émilion village, explore cobbled medieval streets, Romanesque architecture, and ancient underground wine cellars carved directly into limestone. Your guide will lead you past key landmarks including the cloister and the famous Monolithic Church, the largest underground church in Europe, entirely carved from a single rock. Entrance to the monument is optional and payable on site.

Grand Cru Classé Winery Visit and Wine Tasting

This Saint-Émilion wine tour includes a pre-booked visit to a Grand Cru Classé estate, ensuring access to one of the region’s most prestigious wineries. Enjoy a guided tour of the vineyard and cellars, followed by a tasting of the estate’s wines.

Saint-Émilion wines are primarily crafted from Merlot and Cabernet Franc, grape varieties that flourish in the region’s clay and limestone soils. These wines are known for their richness, structure, and aging potential.

Your certified guide provides in-depth explanations of the Saint-Émilion classification system, terroir, winemaking techniques, and vintage variations, offering a comprehensive introduction to Right Bank Bordeaux wines. The number of wines tasted depends on the estate. Additional tastings in the village can be arranged upon request.

We had a very fun day with Matt to Mont Saint-Mitchel. Matt is an excellent tour guide & he cared for his clients very much. He's an on time person. We learned a lot about the history of Saint-Mitchel via Matt. He made sure we have enough time browsing this beautiful UNESCO. We definitely recommend friends & family this tour. Thank you Matt

Pascal was, above all, a smiling whirlwind of energy from the very start — bursting with knowledge, passion, and just the right amount of dramatic flair. He painted the horror of the Omaha Beach invasion so vividly that we could practically hear the chaos, then marched us through the bunkers at Pointe du Hoc like we were on a mission ourselves. And before we even caught our breath, he had already catapulted us back to Bayeux at invasion speed. A legend in tour‑guide form. Thanks from Croatian Team😉

Our Normandy D-Day tour was well worth it and we so enjoyed our tour guide Matt. He made the tour engaging, entertaining and informative. The tour was just the right size and a half day was perfect for us. It would have been much harder to get around to the sites and understand each without the information that Matt was constantly sharing. There was hardly a time that Matt was not telling us what/how/when of what we were looking at. Thanks Matt!
