Itinerary
After pickup from your preferred Cusco hotel, we will head to our first stop, Chinchero. Here we will visit a Textile Center, where we’ll learn about the woven process of the famous traditional textiles of the area, the extraction of the alpaca wool, and more. Then, we’ll be privileged with a view to the ancient Chinchero Archeological Site.
Our next stop will be in Moray, an ancient agricultural laboratory where over 250 plant species were cultivated during the Inca era.
Once we’ve finished our excursion, we’ll head towards Maras, a small town with colonial and Inca characteristics.
We will visit the Salineras, a group of over 3,000 salt mines currently used by the locals for the extraction of salt since Inca times.
After a morning of exploration and fun, we will stop for lunch in Urubamba, a beautiful valley surrounded by towering mountains and an evergreen natural landscape.
Following the itinerary, we’ll continue to Ollantaytambo. The small town is a well preserved example of the urbanistic knowledge of the Incas, surrounded by towering mountains and a flourishing nature. During the Inca times, Ollantaytambo was an administrative, ceremonial, and military center.
Pass by: • You can continue your experience to Aguas Calientes with a train ride from the Ollantaytambo Train Station. • If you wish to return to Cusco, the departure time from Ollantaytambo will be at 16:45h, arriving at Cusco around 18:00h.

Day in the sacred valley
The tour was super peaceful and full of culture. The guide Fisher shared a lot of knowledge about the sacred valley making the trip sensational
Viajes Machu Picchu is s great choice, Domingo a top guide!!
Viajes Machu Picchu is a first class outfit to customize a tour of the Inca sites all around Cusco and of course Mach Picchu. Domingo was probably the best tour guide we’ve ever had - for 8 days his energy and enthusiasm never wavered. The drivers and cars were new and comfortable. Worth every cent —— ask for DOMINGO as your Inca guide for the sacred valley.
A wonderful experience
Manuel Usca and Jay were both exceptional tour guides. Manuel was very welcoming, energetic and informative right from the time he picked us up till the moment he dropped us off at the train station. He provided detailed knowledge of Inca history and made it a lively tour. He was very accommodating of our schedule and took extra care by helping us with our itinerary. They both went out of their way to make the entire day a very comfortable and pleasant experience.
Great tour, ask for Walter.
Walter helped me and my daughter tour this area. He was great! My daughter was sick from the altitude and he made sure she was okay. I highly recommend taking this with Walter.
