Full description

With your licensed local guide leading the way, you’ll breeze past the notoriously long lines and through an exclusive Vatican Partner Entrance into the Vatican Museums – giving you more time to experience the artistic treasures of this unmatched collection. Seek out the sights you really want to see, dwell a little longer in areas with lots to take in, and ask questions to your heart’s content – making the most of your guide’s considerable Vatican expertise. The tour takes in the Gallery of Maps, with its delicately gilded ceiling, the world-famous Raphael Rooms, and much more. You’ll see famous works alongside forgotten relics, medieval maps, and ancient sculptures, each with its own story, before heading to the jewel in the Vatican’s crown: the Sistine Chapel. Here, your guide will provide a richer perspective on Michelangelo’s legendary frescos, pointing out easily missed details like the painful punishments the artist painted for his enemies, and the personal message he left for the Pope.

We had a guide named Sarah and she was absolutely amazing. She made it so fun and enjoyable that I’ll remember it for life. The guide for our Pompeii portion, Micheal, was super knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. I learned a lot. When I booked this tour, I didn’t know that you get to stop for a pizza lunch with the group, nor did I know we would get to visit the Limoncello factory in Sorrento! That was a really cool experience. We were able to sample some flavours of limoncello and chocolates. They do stop at the truck stop cafes (they are heavenly lol) in the morning and in the afternoon, so you will never be without something to eat or snack on. It would have been nice to have a tad bit more time in Sorrento, but it was absolutely breathtaking and has given me the desire to see the coast next summer with my daughter!
