Rhodes Beach Cruise: Traganou, Kallithea and Anthony Quinn Bay

11 of us had a great time with Georgios and Monica aboard a sailing yacht. We visited three beautiful bays and enjoyed swimming and a delicious lunch. We highly recommend this tour - we couldn’t have asked for a better time!

We went on the Romantika Exclusive Day Cruise. It was brilliant. Not to busy. Fantastic swimming spots. Lovely crew/ staff. Good was delicious. Boat was gorgeous. Great music. Would highly recommend.

The pick up transfer from our hotel was superb , on time and a speedy air conditioned drive to the company office where we checked in and made our way to the boat . The boat was pleasant with a nice crew and we found it comfortable on board . The food on offer wasn’t as described ( mousskka and Greek salad ) but instead we had bread , tzatziki, beans , cold pasta , tomato sauce , cold chicken strips , potato salad . Lunch wasn’t announced to everyone , we just suddenly saw other people with plates of food walking around the boat . Wine was offered throughout the trip along with bottled water and coke from a 2L bottle . The first stop was on the outskirts of a bay . We anchored and everyone was told to have a swim for an hour . Most people jumped in with snorkels and floats . Not much marine life here and was somewhat dark and murky . After a few minutes it became apparent that the water current that we were in was extremely strong and people suddenly found it difficult -if not impossible to get back to the boat . One couple got marooned on a 5 foot island , we , along with many others had to be rescued by another boat that was nearby with life rings . One man seemed traumatised after the ordeal and children from a family were distraught as their mother seemed to be struggling when rescued . I’ll admit it was pretty terrifying at the time and to think we could have been swept away or even worse - exhausted and drowned . Why we anchored outside of the bay in full stream of a strong current is beyond me ….. The next stop was to a pebble beach although the beach looked pretty nice with a cave , sunbeds and facilities - we anchored so far away from it all that the hour long stop was merely another swim then back on the boat . Nothing to see snorkelling wise and a completely pointless stop . Our last stop was to Anthony Quinn bay , very pretty and lovely under water . Upon return we docked in a different place to departure so we were lost where to go to get back to the office and had to stop to ask for directions. On the jetty on our way we stopped for literally 2 minutes to pick up an ice cream . We found the office .. completely closed but there was one of the office team balanced on a Segway outside. He immediately said we had missed our bus transfer back to the hotel and that we should have returned earlier along with the other guests from our boat . He said he went to check the boat 10 minutes ago and the boat was completely empty. We were the first off and there was no way the boat would have emptied that quickly ! People were still enjoying drinks and getting changed . He said in a VERY RUDE MANNER that we were wrong to be so late back and made a huge fuss and made us feel extremely embarrassed and somewhat ANGRY as we had done NOTHING WRONG. Stopping for 2 minutes to pick up an ice cream whilst eating it in the way back trying to navigate through hoards of tourists and traffic to the office was a HUGE offence in his eyes . He phoned his boss and said begrudgingly that he’d take us to the bus we had missed along with all of the other passengers that were supposedly from our boat . We caught up and it turned out that no one on that bus was from our boat but ANOTHER !! I think this guy needs a lesson in customer service and to get his facts straight before belittling paying customers.

After two boat trips we booked the third direct with Half Price Tours, three swimming stops stops, party boat, all inclusive drink and food. Probably the best of the three trips that we booked with the company. We sailed on Romantika Dreams. clean boat, staff couldn’t be more helpful we had the best day jumping into the sea off all decks and swimming up to the caves.
