Lake Michigan 4-Day Tour from Chicago

It was good and safe. Seats were a bit uncomfortable and some points noise levels were rly high due to groups which staffs could control a bit better. Sufficient amount of time was given for the swimming at bay and at symi island. Great activity to do!

The island of Symi is absolutely beautiful, and definitely worth a visit. But that’s where the positive review ends. By all means visit Symi, but ensure you carry out your research first with the travel operator. ‘Half price tours’ is named this way to attract customers. They are anything but half price, and I would strongly advise you seeking an alternative travel provider. The boat we boarded was the oldest one in the harbour, appropriately named ‘Zeus D’ which is an indication of its age. Decades old. In the lower deck, it had a musty carpet that is quite honestly rank! We travelled from Lindos and the total return journey from door-to-door lasted exactly 12-hours so be prepared for a long day. My biggest gripe with this tour operator is that the trip was over subscribed and there was not enough seating for all the tourists that had booked. I travelled with 3 children, and there was no where for bus to sit on either journey. On the way back, the only place we could be accommodated was in the basement of the boat, the temperature in that part of the boat was easily in excess of 45 degrees. And made us all feel very poorly. We felt like stowaways and the conditions were fit for animals let alone humans. I tried to raise my gripe with the tour operator but they couldn’t care less, and refuted everything I had said. The timings were not accurate either, we were told we could dive off at St George’s bay and spend an hour there. The reality was it was much less than an hour and the crew did not allow my children to dive off either. The stay at Symi was advertised as 3-hours but again was far less. Honestly, do not book this type of tour without seeing what you are purchasing. Arrive in good time at the harbour, between 8-9am and then chose your provider and boat. They all set sail around 10am. It cost a small fortune and came away extremely disappointed. Sotiris

We had a fabulous day at St George Bay and Symi Island. The process was effortless from start to finish. Half price tours picked us up from our hotel in the morning at the time they said, drove us to their booking office and directed us to the boat. The boat was equipped with refreshments and it was a smooth journey to St George Bay where we spent 1 hour swimming in the beautiful clear blue water. We hopped back on board to travel a short distance to Symi Island. We had 3 hours to eat, drink and explore the beautiful Symi Island. The boat departed symi at the exact time the crew said we would so don’t be late! Again refreshments were available for the journey back to Rhodes. We jumped off the boat, walked a short distance to the booking office where half price tours met us and once again drove us back to our hotel. The whole experience was faultless, we had a fantastic day. I especially appreciated half price tours advising as we travelled across the water our phone network provider might recognise us being located in Turkey which could impact our roaming charges and recommend turning this off so avoid unexpected charges. From this great advice I switched my roaming off and was not charged additional fees as my network provider indeed recognise I was in Turkey. All in all, fantastic day, fantastic service, would 100% recommend when visiting Rhodes.

Beautiful stop to St George Bay and Symi island. The driver who picked us up and dropped us off was brilliant! The staff on the boat were very friendly and made the experience fun. The boat was a little older than the other ones on the marina but overall the experience was great. Great communication throughout as well, highly recommend it!

⭐ 5 STARS! Literally the highlight of our trip! Could not recommend this day out more! Beautiful boat ride, stunning views everywhere you look, St George’s Bay, wow! The clearest, bluest water I’ve ever seen, absolute paradise for a swim stop! Then arriving at Symi is just incredible, so pretty, feels like stepping into a fairytale village 🧚‍♀️ Loads of time to explore, eat, relax & take photos, everything was perfect! Staff were so nice & helpful, whole day felt relaxed & well‑organised. If you visit Rhodes—this trip is non‑negotiable just go! (Also the best price you can find on the island) Loved every single second! ⛵🏝️💛
