Quebec City Hop-On Hop-Off Tour

It was a great way to learn about Quebec City and see many sights and views that you wouldn't be able to if you were only walking. The hop on/hop off feature was great!

Don’t waste your money. I’ve done the hop on/off in many cities and this was the worst experience ever. There was no map of the route that I could find so no idea where the stops were except the first stop/address that was listed on Viator even though it says you can get on at any of them. (Not until the end of the day did I notice a QR code on one of the signs telling you how far away the next bus is, but heaven forbid your phone doesn’t work!) We got onto the bus and it sat there for way too long. Got to 2 maybe 3 stops in half an hour. Something clearly wasn’t working but no announcement from the driver or no info about what was going on or no info that the bus was going to sit at these locations for that long. Even the woman sitting behind me went to talk to the driver more than once to find out what the heck was happening. No commentary from the driver, only the headset gave commentary and it was rather ridiculously short with not much info and would even cut off mid sentence without finishing (I wonder if that was the driver cutting it off since some of the commentary didn’t match where the bus was). The stop listed on Viator was just outside Dufferin Terrace. Had we known where we were and how long we’d just be sitting on a bus at this stop would take, we would have taken a stroll around here first before getting on a bus, but thought instead to catch it now and start the tour to know where we want to get off.. Then the route took us through upper part of town that we had just come from and ended where we parked the car (doh!) before finally going into lower part of town that we actually wanted to see. We were so annoyed by the tour and waste of time on this bus by this time we just had to get off the bus, realizing later it was literally down a flight of stairs from the first stop we got on. We would have been 100x happier walking around for a bit had the driver given any warning about when it’s set to depart or even the direction the bus was going. Instead no help at all except which channel to listen to. We could have walked around old town, enjoyed some drinks, shopped a little, actually experienced the city I had looked forward to most on this trip, but instead a poor choice to buy this ticket led to an awful experience on this bus. I saw one of the yellow busses pass us at least 3x. This was the kind of service I would demand a refund for if I thought someone would actually listen. Then couldn’t even catch a bus later to finish the ride for the last few stops when we tried to. Did not see some of the sights people posted on this site. Were roads closed or something on the route? That was misleading. Skip this tour, especially if your main goal is to focus on Old Town and just enjoy the day.

Hop on hop off his was a great way to see the city & get an overview of things. Although lots of traffic we especially enjoyed the country & our tour through the park. A must do!!!

There is a map to see where the buses are and where the stops are. That wasn’t shared even after I booked through you. I had to go to the bus tour website to find it.
