Takes some time but is a good Tour

We liked this tour but it does take quite a bit of your time. From the pick up at our Buenos Aires hotel it was a two hour drive out to the estancia. Our driver was good and was of English descent so understanding him was no problem. He was not however terribly forthcoming with information or history. Since this was a long drive, it would have been nice to have more commentary (just a helpful hint). We arrived at the estancia, and it was quaint, built in the 1880's, and surrounded by cooling trees. Our greeting was abit perfunctory as we were shown the bathrooms, given a glass of wine and an empanada. We were then left to our own devices for what seemed a long time. After other guests arrived we were offered a horse ride, which was a walk around the property, or a ride in a one horse carriage, which was interesting if a bit bumpy. We were then all served an asado on the covered patio surrounding the main house. The food was good with fresh salads, carrots and corn dressed with olive oil followed by the expected meat courses of sausage, beef rib, and beef steak (no lamb or chicken). The wine that they served was good and there was plenty of it. The entertainment that followed was the highlight with live music and traditional dancing, even inviting the several guests to join in at one point. This was followed by a "horse Whisperer" demonstration by one of the Gauchos that was very good and then it was back in the car for the two-hour drive back. Overall, not a bad tour but we wish that there had been more commentary and education about the birds around the property, the gaucho life, etc., especially for the price. I would only take this tour if you had done most of the others first and had the time and money to do this one. Also, it would rush you to get to the airport if you took this tour on the last day. Hopefully some of these comments will be helpful to the tour operators.

Fabulous Gaucho Experience!

Beautiful ranch, great food and service! Our guide Jose was fantastic! We rode horses, ate delicious empanadas and Argentinian asado and also enjoyed great entertainment.

Wonderful day outside the city

Alberto was an excellent driver and tour guide. The employees on the ranch were so welcoming and made our experience wonderful. We enjoyed the asado and the entertainment, especially the horse taming.

Worth the Drive and the Time

Our driver from the hotel to the Gaucho Day and back to the airport. Was the best part. He was informative and very helpful. Watching the Gaucho and how he handled his horse was so beautiful. He had such a bond with the horse

A great choice

One of the top things we did in Buenos Aires. If I were to do it again I would spend the night. Service was fabulous. The food was delicious and the estancia it self is old with a lot of character.
