Agency sells exclusive service, but delivers poor logistics and poor service

Before closing with this agency, we researched a lot on TripAdvisor and Google. The reviews seemed great, but unfortunately do not reflect the experience we had. I then understood why the grades are so high: right after each ride — including the transfer from the airport — the guides insistently ask you to make a positive assessment, saying that this is critical to keeping your jobs. When I realized, I had already evaluated the company before even using most of the services contracted. This helps explain the inflated notes on the platforms. In general, customer service is very weak. The team delays to respond, passes information fragmented and the logistics of the trip leaves plenty to be desired. At various times we had the feeling that no one had a complete view of our script. Positive points Some of the guides were excellent, very prepared and attentive. In addition, the vehicles used in the transfers were new and comfortable. What went wrong The tour to Machu Picchu was by far the biggest disappointment and a true example of disorganization. The agency put us on a train that arrived late to Aguas Calientes and, at the same time, marked our arrival in Machu Picchu for 7am the next morning. We hardly had time to rest. To make it worse, our tickets simply weren't delivered. The justification was that “the tickets were lost on the company’s Google Drive.” We got to the bus line to Machu Picchu without the tickets in hand. Fortunately, a Peruvian government prosecutor was extremely understanding and allowed me to stay in line while my boyfriend ran to the Ministry of Culture to locate and print the tickets. If it weren't for his goodwill, we'd probably miss the ride. At this point, our “personal guide” left us alone for much of the situation. She only helped with the trams in the government agency to print the tickets, but the entire solution to the problem was on our own. When the tour ended, around 11 o’clock, another surprise came: our return ticket was only scheduled for 6 o’clock. We lost practically an entire day in Aguas Calientes, without any programming and without it being informed in advance. It was a planning mistake that compromised an important part of the trip. To complete, when checking the tickets, we realized that they had been issued just a few days before our arrival in Peru. Given the high demand for Machu Picchu, this made us imagine the risk we run simply not being able to visit the park. Conclusion The agency sells itself as a “premium” service, but the experience is very far from this proposal. The organization is bad, the logistics fails at basics and the customer service is slow and disorganized. At various times, the answers seemed automatic and disconnected from reality, as if no one was actually following the case. For the amount charged, I expected much more. Unfortunately, I do not recommend.

I don't indicate!

The service while negotiating the packages was attentive. Then we had no return, and when we insisted on receiving the information, the care was no longer the same. We had to go to the agency a day before the tours, as we did not receive a hello or voucher. And we left there without the vouchers, we promising to send only hotel, which arrived only at night. We became insecure and suspicious. The purchase of the Matchu Picchu ride includes train all the way back, however one stretch was by train and the rest by bus. However, the outsourced staff (guides) were very professional and attentive.

A breathtaking experience coupled with an amazing tour guide

Our tour guided by Santos was amazing! Santos is extremely knowledgeable and also very conscientious of allowing us time to enjoy the scenery and take it all in. Santos also helped us understand how to get around (between Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu entrance, which tickets to use, which entrance to use) and confirm unexpected closures to a few hikes that we purchased. Upon arrival at the Machu Picchu entrance for our first day, Santos confirmed with the gate controller that Huaynapicchu and Machupicchu mountains are closed from hikers (as of 12 April 2025). Highly recommend a tour guided by Santos! He definitely helped us make the best of an unexpected itinerary change and a rather confusing entrance system.

Incredible journey

My experience in Machu Picchu was simply amazing, my tour started at 7 a.m. so it wasn’t so full at the beginning. Special thanks to the Guide RONALD, who was super attentive at all times, since when he picked me up at the train station, on the bus when he provided me the best seat to enjoy the view, during the visit he shared a lot of knowledge of the Inca culture and acted as a photographer hahah and on the way back still took me to stamp the passport and showed me the train station for the trip back. Many thanks also to the agency Machu Picchu Trips, as a woman travelling alone I felt very safe at all times, because I closed a 1 week Vacation Package with several tours and had no unforeseen. Thank you all: Ana, Franco, Ricardo and others I don't remember the name.
