Itinerary
Pass by: Depart from Bangkok
Arrive at Maeklong Railway Market Near Mae Klong Station in Samut Songkhram Province, there is a railway market where shops selling vegetables, fruits, and other goods are crammed together alongside the tracks that are still in use. It is also known as Talat Rom Hub, or the “umbrella market” (ตลาดร่มหุบ).As the name suggests, vendors along the tracks fold up their tents and umbrellas when trains pass by (eight times a day) between Mae Klong and Ban Laem, then reopen their stalls once the trains have passed.
Visit Tao Thai Doem 2 (Traditional Sugar-Making House) Next, visit Tao Tan Doem 2, a traditional Thai house where coconut sugar is made the old-fashioned way. Learn how locals tap coconut trees, boil the sap, and craft the rich, golden sugar over a wood-fired stove. This hands-on stop offers a glimpse into rural Thai life and the heritage behind one of the country's most loved ingredients. You'll also tour a charming wooden house that reflects classic Thai architecture. Don’t miss the chance to sample warm, freshly made coconut sugar—it’s a sweet treat straight from the source!
End your day with a scenic paddle boat ride through the lively Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Cruise along narrow canals as vendors in boats offer tropical fruits, coconut ice cream, and sizzling street food
Lunch by the Riverside After your ride, enjoy a tasty riverside lunch at a local restaurant, soaking in the canal-side views and peaceful atmosphere. Lunch is included too! We’ve selected a lovely local restaurant with delicious food, clean and comfortable atmosphere and yes!, we also have vegetarian options.
Free Time at the Market Wrap up your visit with a stroll through the market's walkway—perfect for souvenir shopping, people-watching, or snapping a few last photos before heading back to Bangkok.

Excellent cultural experience!
Really enjoyed this trip! Got to experience the hustle and bustle of the railway market with a tasty smoothie and a great view followed by the serenity of the boat tour. Trains boats and caravan tour
The tour was very relaxed. The guide walked us through the train market. We made it there just before the train arrived which was great because we didn’t have to wait that long.

Gliding Through Tradition: A Journey Beyond Bangkok
The first stop of the day was at the Maeklong Train Market. By the time we arrived, the crowd had already grown very large in anticipation of the train's arrival. As the time for the train's scheduled appearance, the vendors quickly folded the awnings, closed umbrellas and pushed trays, tables and chairs to safety along the tracks. Finally, the locomotive slowly made its way along the track just inches from the crowd that was eager to take photos and videos perfect for sharing with their friends, family and social media followers. At Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, we boarded wooden boats, and glided leisurely through the various canals as we watched and listened to vendors as they called to us from boats or from the canal side as they enthusiastically hawked their wares. The boat ride was followed by a very nice lunch right there in the market itself. Finally, we visited a local home where they carry on the age-old tradition of making sugar from coconuts. We were told that not only do they make sugar from coconuts, but also such things as brooms, coconut beverages, and even coconut wine. Visitors who arrive during the morning operating hours will be able to enjoy a hands-on traditional sugar-making activity. Shin, our guide, was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Throughout the day, the van driver’s skill and professionalism ensured a safe, smooth ride, allowing us all to simply relax, enjoy each other's company, and savor Thailand’s timeless charm.
