This intimate experience is designed for discerning travelers looking to elevate their Bordeaux experience, ensuring that you savor every drop and every bite. With seamless pickup and drop-off in Bordeaux, this tour promises a refined adventure you won't soon forget.

Experience an exclusive private full-day Sauternes wine tour from Bordeaux visiting two legendary Premier Grand Cru Classé 1855 estates. Discover Château d'Yquem, the world's only Premier Cru Supérieur, with vineyard and cellar tours followed by a prestige tasting of their 2016 vintage. Continue to another prestigious 1855 classified organic and biodynamic Sauternes château for an extraordinary finale: Sauternes and Aquitaine caviar pairing, a sophisticated combination found nowhere else in Bordeaux wine country.

Château d'Yquem — The World's Greatest Sweet Wine

Your private tour begins at Château d'Yquem, the undisputed pinnacle of sweet winemaking and the only estate classified Premier Cru Supérieur in the historic 1855 Bordeaux Classification. Stroll through rolling Sauternes vineyards where misty mornings and sun-kissed afternoons create ideal conditions for noble rot (Botrytis cinerea) to develop on Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Learn how this beneficial fungus concentrates sugars and flavors, transforming ordinary grapes into the foundation for the world's most celebrated sweet wine.

Tour the technical facilities and atmospheric cellars where Yquem ages in French oak barrels, developing extraordinary complexity and legendary aging potential. Your Discovery Visit includes detailed explanations of the meticulous, selective harvesting process — vineyard workers sometimes pass through the same vines up to eleven times, picking only perfectly botrytized berries at optimal ripeness. Conclude with a prestige tasting featuring Château d'Yquem 2016 vintage, experiencing the estate's signature balance between opulent honeyed richness and refreshing acidity, with layers of apricot, citrus, and exotic fruit flavors.

Premier Grand Cru Classé Sauternes & Caviar Pairing

After free time for lunch in the charming village of Sauternes, continue to another historic Premier Grand Cru Classé 1855 estate renowned for its organic and biodynamic viticulture. Explore sustainable vineyards and innovative cellars combining traditional winemaking with modern precision before your extraordinary tasting experience.

Enjoy Sauternes wines paired with premium Aquitaine caviar, a luxurious local delicacy from southwest France. This sophisticated sweet and salty pairing reveals unexpected harmonies — the wine's honeyed sweetness, vibrant acidity, and silky texture complement caviar's buttery richness, oceanic minerality, and delicate brininess. The combination highlights dimensions in both wine and caviar that are less apparent when tasted alone, creating a unique sensory experience showcasing why this pairing has become a signature of haute gastronomy.

Throughout your 8-hour private Sauternes day trip, travel in premium spacious vehicles with your English-speaking wine expert driver-guide who shares insights into Sauternes terroir, grape varieties, winemaking techniques, and the history of this unique appellation producing the world's finest sweet wines.

We had a very fun day with Matt to Mont Saint-Mitchel. Matt is an excellent tour guide & he cared for his clients very much. He's an on time person. We learned a lot about the history of Saint-Mitchel via Matt. He made sure we have enough time browsing this beautiful UNESCO. We definitely recommend friends & family this tour. Thank you Matt

Pascal was, above all, a smiling whirlwind of energy from the very start — bursting with knowledge, passion, and just the right amount of dramatic flair. He painted the horror of the Omaha Beach invasion so vividly that we could practically hear the chaos, then marched us through the bunkers at Pointe du Hoc like we were on a mission ourselves. And before we even caught our breath, he had already catapulted us back to Bayeux at invasion speed. A legend in tour‑guide form. Thanks from Croatian Team😉

Our Normandy D-Day tour was well worth it and we so enjoyed our tour guide Matt. He made the tour engaging, entertaining and informative. The tour was just the right size and a half day was perfect for us. It would have been much harder to get around to the sites and understand each without the information that Matt was constantly sharing. There was hardly a time that Matt was not telling us what/how/when of what we were looking at. Thanks Matt!
