Flexible Private Departure from Strasbourg

In the morning or afternoon, your English-speaking driver-guide will pick you up directly at your accommodation in Strasbourg. During a brief introduction, your guide will present the itinerary and discuss your preferences, as this private half-day tour is fully customizable to focus on Alsatian wines, authentic villages, or a blend of both.

Alsace Wine Route & Wine Tastings

Set out along the legendary Alsace Wine Route to discover some of France’s most distinctive wines. Known for its aromatic white wines, the region benefits from a dry, sunny climate, varied geology, well-drained soils, and excellent vineyard exposures. On the wine-focused option, stop at two carefully selected wineries for guided wine tastings, learn about the seven main Alsace grape varieties, and sample Pinot Gris, Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Sylvaner, and Muscat while your host explains local traditions, terroirs, and food pairings.

Scenic Villages and Local Heritage

If you prefer scenery and heritage, your small-group half-day trip follows the northern section of the Alsace Wine Route toward some of the region’s most charming villages surrounded by vineyards. Discover Barr, a superb village with medieval walls, flower-decked half-timbered houses, and cobbled lanes, offering a genuinely authentic Alsace atmosphere away from the crowds. Depending on your interests, your guide may also include Mittelbergheim, with its handsome Rue Principale and Gothic churches, or Andlau, renowned for its 9th‑century abbey.

Tailor-Made Half-Day Experience

This flexible tour allows you to mix and match according to your tastes—combine visits to authentic villages with a single winery tasting, or prioritize vineyards with a short village stop. Your guide will happily adapt the route and timing to your wishes and suggest the best options based on the season and opening times. Sharing your preferences in advance is helpful, but you can also fine‑tune your private half-day excursion from Strasbourg with a quick discussion at the start.

Return to Strasbourg and Further Exploration

At the end of your experience, your guide will drive you back to Strasbourg. To continue exploring Alsace, consider our full‑day “Pearls of Alsace” tour, featuring Haut‑Koenigsbourg Castle, Colmar, and Eguisheim, or add more day trips to iconic wine villages such as Riquewihr or Kaysersberg.

Fabulously informative day with great guide Orlane. She was so knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. Three great wineries visited with the wines being well chosen so that we weren’t replicating the wines we had previously tasted. Very friendly hosts at all 3 wineries. Plenty of time for lunch and a look round in Riquewihr, so nothing felt rushed. We would highly recommend Osphorus to everybody.

Carlos was great! He really knew his wine and the history of the region. He also gave us helpful recommendations for our lunch, as well as dinners in Strasbourg and Colmar. We really enjoyed our tour, tasting some great wines along with seeing some beautiful villages. Our only suggestion would be that the last venue have a place to sit, especially on such a hot day.
