We have both longer and shorter airport transfers & tour options for you to choose from, so make the most of your time with us. It is also possible to be picked up at the Cruise Terminal and dropped off at the Airport and vice versa.
The default group size usually has a maximum of eighteen people, but please don't hesitate to contact us if you have a larger group wanting to do an airport transfer and tour. The email is booking@yourfriendinreykjavik.com.

Your Friend in Reykjavik (YFIR) arranged 5 days of private tours for us of Reykjavik, the Golden Circle, and the South Coast. From the beginning, communication with Zofia and the YFIR team was great. I liked that Zofia scheduled a Zoom call with me to discuss my tour preferences and expectations. I have booked private tours all over the world and this was the first time a tour company has communicated with me via Zoom. It was great to get that extra personalized attention! Throughout the planning process I had lots of questions and made several changes to the itinerary. Zofia never made me feel like I was asking too much (though I felt that I was annoying) and was always happy to make adjustments to ensure we were happy with the final itinerary. We were very excited to start our vacation in Iceland. Throughout the 5 days, we had 3 AMAZING guides – ANNA, ARNI, and ANNA MARIA. ANNA picked us up from the airport when we arrived in Iceland and was also our guide on the Golden Circle Tour and the 2-Day South Coast Tour. We spent 3 incredible days with her…and the airport pickup. She was very knowledgeable about Iceland and the locations we visited. She ensured we were always happy with the stops and told us that if we wanted to make any modifications to the itinerary to just let her know since the whole point of a private tour is to tailor it to what the client wants. She had absolutely no problem with changing things around and was happy to do whatever worked best for us. The long drives never felt that long because we had such great conversations with ANNA. She told us so much about Iceland, her hometown in the north, and what everyday life is really like there. It was nice to hear things from a local’s perspective, and the time in the car was actually fun! ARNI was our guide for the Walk With a Viking Tour and the Reykjavik Food Lovers Tour. ARNI is very proud and passionate about Iceland, its history, and its food. He was so animated and excited that we couldn’t help but get caught up in it too. He showed us his family tree dating back to the Viking Leif Erikson. He also made sure we went to the best picture spots. Every food stop on the tour was delicious. Before we started, I showed ARNI a list of places I wanted to try while in Iceland based on online recommendations. I was surprised that two of them were already included in the tour. We also passed a few other places on my list, and ARNI pointed them out and told me what he liked to order. It was great getting a local’s opinion. The tour was really helpful throughout the rest of our time in Iceland since it helped us determine which Icelandic foods we liked. Surprisingly, my mom’s favorite dish was Plokksiskur (fish stew) which we tried on the tour. She would not have known about this dish otherwise. ANNA MARIA was our guide for the Northern Lights Hunting Tour. We were so lucky with the timing of our tour. On that night, NL activity was high and there were hardly any clouds. We honestly had no idea what to expect, but ANNA MARIA made sure we quickly got to the designated viewing spot since NL activity was strongly expected soon after she picked us up. She also brought her own camera and tripod and said she would take pictures of us. Photography wasn’t included in the tour, so that was such a great surprise. ANNA MARIA also provided a detailed explanation of the NL. She is definitely very knowledgeable about this topic, and so passionate about it! As soon as we arrived, ANNA MARIA was beyond excited with how much activity there was. Right away, she set up the camera, told us where to stand, shone the flashlight, and took the most amazing pictures. She was like a wizard with the flashlight and camera! We were beyond grateful with the timing and that ANNA MARIA was our guide for this tour. It was an unforgettable night. We are very grateful to YFIR, ANNA, ARNI and ANNA MARIA. Not only have we left Iceland with incredible and unforgettable memories, we also have beautiful pictures to look back on and remember it all.
Our guide Einar was very helpful and provided information about the cats of Reykjavík along with bonus information about the area history and even Icelandic book recommendations
Absolutely loved the cat walk with Einar! I learned so much about the area in addition to the cat theme of the tour. I experienced the cats of Reykjavík better than I ever could on my own. Unfortunately it was at the end of my trip, so I couldn't take advantage of the advice on exploring the city more. Thankfully I will be better prepared on my next visit!
