Good to know
- Thailand's Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation will close Maya Bay every year for 2 months in August and September.
- Notable rules at Maya Bay include no swimming, no single-use plastics, using reef-safe sunscreen and no use of drones without permission.
- While Monkey Beach isn't a direct stop, you can still observe the monkeys when the tide is low.
- Don't feed the monkeys as it makes them aggressive and stops them from foraging for food as they would normally do.
- During certain seasons, jellyfish may be present in the Andaman Sea, and contact can cause skin irritation or discomfort. To minimize the risk, we recommend wearing protective clothing such as watershoes and long swimwear when swimming.
- Ensuring your safety is our top priority. To that end, we strongly recommend wearing a life jacket throughout the entire boat ride to the islands and while snorkeling.
- Speed boats navigate close to the shoreline, allowing passengers a convenient and effortless transition to the beach.
- While flip-flops are convenient, water shoes offer better protection against sharp objects like shells or rocks on the sand, and provide improved traction on wet surfaces.
- Shorts are ideal as they dry quickly and allow for greater freedom of movement, especially if the water level reaches above your knees when getting on or off the boat.
Traveler reviews
Horrible.
Very disappointed with this excursion the program described was not respected at all. No visit on Monkey beach they did not adapt the circuit to the tide and we were obviously not warned, the Vikking cellar we pass quickly and we point it at you. And the worst part is that lunch was planned at Banboo beach and we had lunch at ko phi phi in a closed canteen like a school group. I don't need to tell you that the guide taught us anything... Excursion to escape totally even if we knew that ko phi phi was very touristic , there is really a shame!!!
A nice day on the boat.
It was a nice trip, pick up was perfectly on time and the tour guide did his job very well. Food was ok, we went to a place where the buffet was on koh pi pi. The whole tour is recommendable, but there where a lot of people @these hot spots. see image below. We have been lucky, only 16 people on the boat. In general, the amount of people is doubled.
Don’t waste your money.
Not as described. Lunch was on phi phi island not bamboo as discussed. Crowded on a tiny speedboat like sardines. Lunch was cold and tasteless. Snorkeling spots were wrecked by tourism. No coral to speak of, only a few tiny, scared fish. Staff were lovely and this was the only good thing about the tour.
Excellent Tour
Really enjoyed the tour, about 15 of us, as it was off season, there were hardly any other visitors. The tour was excellent, giving us plenty of time to do what we wanted. Lunch was very nice, fresh veg, chicken and curry. Plenty of towels, water, everything needed for a wonderful day.
