Dream Come True
It was a dream come true for me and my family to visit Petra, Wadi Musa, Jordan. We were first disappointed when our trip was cancelled last July 2, 2023 because we did not get a flight confirmation. It was moved to July 3, 2023 with the help of Bein Harim staff, Josef. After that, everything went fine. Our Moroccan Israeli guide, Adam helped us a lot when we crossed from Eilat, Israel to Aquaba, Jordan via foot. He was very friendly, kind and helpful. Our Jordanian guide on the other side of the border was Kareem. He was also very friendly, kind, helpful and lively. He accompanied us from Aquaba to Wadi Rum all the way to Petra, Wadi Musa. It was a grueling 3-hour bus ride but, it was fun. We loved the 1st class hotel where we stayed in- the Old Village Hotel and Resort in Petra. We loved all the amenities- the big air-conditioned rooms, the shop, the two restaurants, the pool and the sauna. And of course, we loved the very friendly staff- from the front desk people to the waiters and cleaners. They were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast and the dinner buffet served was absolutely fantastic! It was a combination of Jordanian/Arab cuisine and Western food. And of course Petra- it was grueling 2 kilometers walk from the entrance up to the Treasury. From the Treasury, it was another 1.6 kilometers walk under the intense heat of the sun (54 degrees centigrade). But, it was all fun and adventure for me and my family. Coming from Manila, Philippines, it was only our second time to experience a “true” desert environment. We were also able to climb to the viewpoint of the Treasury to take pictures and drink the very delicious Bedouin tea (hot). This treacherous trek was made possible with the help of our little boy guide, Mohamed. Thank you very much, Mohamed! Shukran, shukran! Goodbye Jordan for now. We hope to see you again someday! Inshallah, George, Jennifer, Isabella, Aaron from Manila, Philippines
