Pearl Harbor USS Arizona Memorial & Battleship Missouri Tour

The driver was very nice to introduce Hawaii street when driving to Pearl harbor. The weather was crystal clear and zaure blue, sacred Arizona

Booked through Trip Advisor operated by Karma Tours. Our driver was Robert. He was on time picking us up. As we drove he talked about Hawaii, specifically about Oahu.. pointed out Duke the famous Surfer from Hawaii statue. The trip to pearl went smooth. He escorted us into the Main Area for the Arizona Memorial trip. Pointed out where to stop which was a movie about Dec 7 1941. We had a timed shuttle out to the Arizona Memorial. The US Navy had shuttle boats out. As we went out we sailed by the Aircraft Carrier Roosevelt. A very big ship. Getting on the Arizona was a somber moment realizing what happened on that December morning. You go to the back where there is a wall of names of those lost. Also two smaller walls with names of those who were on the ship and chose to be buried with their shipmates. You look down and see the ship below you. Oil that is refered to as tears still comes up today. There was a volunteer with a basket of small flowers that could be dropped into the water. He also answered questions. On both sides are 21 open sides as a salute to the lost heros. You are given limited but enough time to sail back to see the museums back at the dock. We were told by our driver to back where he dropped us off. The whole group was there but not our van or Robert. We asked other drivers who had no clue and were waiting on their groups. Robert finally showed up 20 minutes later with an excuse he was hung up in traffic with another group. We got back on the bus and were taken thru security to the Island where the Battleship Missouri is located. Once again we were given a time to be back. There were volunteers to take you on a tour of the Mighty Mo. This was the end of World War II. They show you the mighty guns on the ship that fought in so many wars over the years. Then you come into the portion of the deck where Japan Surrendered to end the war. The exact spot has a marker. Photos and descriptions of that day. We were told of a Kamakazzi attack on the ship. The body of one of the pilots was recovered and was buried at sea. We did a bit more touring then and enjoyed seeing such a huge piece of history. While on board we looked out and saw four tugs helping move the aircraft carrier leave port. What a treat. We had a bit of time to grab a hot dog and a drink before getting back with our group. We had one couple on board that paid to see the aircraft museum and submarine. We dropped them off and went on the rest of the tour. Robert Shared some of the famous people from the Islands including Bruno Mars. Bette Midler, Dwayne the Rock Johnson and the Obamas. We went up to punchbowl Cemetary that is for Military. It is almost full and you have to apply for a gravesite. We saw the famous building that was used in the TV show Hawaii 50. Diamond Head and Honolulu from a different persective. Robert mentioned we should take time and see the Hawaiian Palace. Interesting enough we were supposed to drive by and see the King Kamehmeha statue. Robert didnt mention this. I think because he was at least 20 minutes late and probably had another tour to take he cut ours short. No Im sorry or anything. Trip Advisor needs to address this with Karma.

They should learn a lot about the history the culture of Hawaii and also what happened on Pearl Harbor that day

Definitely a must see. Well worth it if you are in Honolulu . They r e called and texted the day before. FYI no purses or diaper bags permitted they need to be in a clear bag
