Private Bordeaux & Saint‑Emilion Wine Journey from Your Cruise Ship
Step straight off your cruise ship in Bordeaux into a private, chauffeur‑driven day of grand architecture, vineyards and timeless villages. Your English‑speaking local guide welcomes you at the pier, reviews the easy‑going plan for the day, and settles you into a comfortable, air‑conditioned vehicle for a relaxed start.

Panoramic Bordeaux: From Roman Port to Enlightenment City
Glide along Bordeaux’s broad boulevards and intimate side streets as you learn how Roman Burdigala grew into today’s elegant “Port of the Moon.” From the monumental Place des Quinconces to the golden façades of the Place de la Bourse and the chic “Golden Triangle,” you see why the historic center is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Château Picnic and Wine on the Saint‑Emilion Hillsides
Leaving the riverfront, you follow a short, scenic route to the rolling vineyards of Saint‑Emilion. At a hand‑picked right‑bank château, you tour the cellars, taste refined red wines and enjoy a leisurely picnic lunch of local specialties in a peaceful vineyard setting—an indulgent yet unhurried moment, ideal for comfort‑seekers.

Medieval Saint‑Emilion and Its Underground Treasures
In the afternoon, your guide leads you through Saint‑Emilion’s cobbled lanes, lined with stone houses, viewpoints and wine shops. If you wish, and subject to availability, you can add a guided visit of the extraordinary underground monolithic church and cloister, carved directly into the rock. After some free time for photos and gentle strolling, you are driven back to your cruise ship in Bordeaux or Bassens, with your timely return smoothly taken care of.

Alex was the most experienced, knowledgeable, and chilled tour guide of all the 5 tour guides we experienced. We learned a lot from him about the culture, history, and geology of the region. He also provided great context to understand the regions' wines. This tour to Cassis and the calanques was beautiful and would get a 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that this expensive tour did not include lunch. The wine tasting was good but I had better in Bordeaux and it included lunch.

Matt was an awesome tour guide. His passion for D-day made the experience that much better. He was very knowledgeable. Even my children were glued to his every word. Great experience!

Additional information

Please make sure your boat is docking in Bordeaux City center and not in Le Verdon or La Rochelle. These two ports are located more than 2 hours drive from Bordeaux. If you mistakenly booked a tour and your Cruise ship is not in Bordeaux city center, please note that there will be no refund possible.

If you want to share your tour with others, you can put it on Cruise Critic. Most of the time this gives good results. You must do this yourself as we are not accepted on their site as a professional business. We accept split payment transactions by credit card.
