Eat around as walking through Kuromon market Kuromon Market is a shopping street located in Minami, the center of Osaka City. The market got its name from the black mountain gate of Enmyoji Temple, which was located nearby. The specialty is conger eel in summer and puffer fish in winter, and about 10% of the fresh fish stores have puffer fish specialty signs. There are about 150 stores under the 580-meter-long arcade, and the street is always bustling with people. From fresh fish stores to puffer fish and soft-shelled turtle specialty stores, restaurants, and shops selling vegetables, fruit, meat, pickles, dried goods, Japanese sweets, and Western sweets, the street is packed with a variety of shops, and wherever you look, it is full of the lively energy of a market. The fresh fish stores sell skewered seafood, the fruit stores sell fresh juice, and the tea stores sell matcha soft serve ice cream.

We all had a great day. Choices of food samplings were varied and suited our group. Our guide was very knowledgeable and answered lots of questions we had not only about the food but other things in Japan. Highly recommended.

Great start of our holiday
We got a lovely introduction in the Osaka food culture and tried some dishes we would not have found otherwise. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. After the food market she also showed parts of the surrounding area, so we got a few pointers for further exploration of Osaka.
