Beautiful Scenery, Mixed Depth of History

Enjoyable ride out to the plantations, though it was hard to hear out driver, Shanira unless you sat near the front. She shared several helpful tips for New Orleans and the sites. She also offered to drop-off nearer our hotel which was appreciated. The shuttle was quite a bump especially in the city Laura Plantation was excellent and offered a more realistic perspective of slavery. Oak Alley was beautiful, but felt more like a home-and-garden tour, with the history of slavery less prominent unless you explored on your own.

Bummer!

Well the information we received said meet at 10 at a particular hotel but it also said 9:30. We didn’t see the 9:30 comment so we missed our tour. We spoke with tour operator and rescheduled the next day. They called us and cancelled that tour because there were not enough people signed up so overall the experience wasn’t great. We ended up driving out to the plantation ourselves.
