Full description

Set in the heart of Seattle Center, with the Space Needle towering above, this tour brings history and flavor together in a way that’s delightfully messy but undeniably glorious. It’s raw, it’s real, and it’s Seattle. This tour isn’t for the faint of heart or the overly picky – it’s for the adventurous, the curious, and the hungry for something real. We’re diving into what Seattle truly embraces: iconic flavors and the rich history of the Pacific Northwest.

We’ll start with a classic Seattle dog at an iconic location, then head to the Armory for a local favorite – a mouthwatering beef meat pie, highlighting local ingredients. You’ll also have the opportunity to try fresh, world-class oysters from Taylor Shellfish (don’t worry, it’s perfectly acceptable to skip this taste if oysters aren’t your thing). Next we will head to our favorite spot to sample a local cider, beer and Chef Brendan’s soft pretzel highlighting local grains. To finish up we will sample a unique PNW sweet treat.

Great! Chef Will was extremely knowledgeable, entertaining, and kind to passerbys. It was a real overall food tour. My youngest daughter had thought it would just be a seafood tour around Pike’s market, but it was so much more than that. He also explained a bit of food history and I found that personally fascinating. Do not eat a lot before you go because all of the tastings will fill you up. You wouldn’t want to be too full to enjoy the wares. I would highly recommend this tour.

Absolutely fantastic chef-guided tour of Pile Place Market with Will, from Eat Seattle. He’s a knowledgeable experienced chef who kept our group of 14 moving efficiently so we were able to sample 12 food items, and hear presentations from several. We could never have experienced or tasted items from so many purveyors on our own. The tour is a great value for what you get and a lot of fun. Everything was just delicious and Will was so entertaining. Highly recommend! Highlights: The BEST clam chowder from Pike Place Chowder; the otherworldly corn tortilla with pork carnitas, radish & cilantro from Maiz; the raw scallop and smoked salmon from The Original Seafood; pizza from Pizza & Pasta Bar Italian Restaurant; gelato from Helleneka.
