Full description

The Boyne Valley “the heartland of the Irish Nation” and the location of Ireland’s famous Battle of the Boyne, the ancient capital at Tara along with the ancient passage grave tombs of Newgrange at Bru na Boinne World Heritage Site and also the finely carved High Crosses of Monsterboice and the famous Battle of The Boyne Site. Entrance tickets to enter the Newgrange Chamber are available 30 days in advance by arrangement. At the Battle of The Boyne Site tickets can be purchased on arrival. This favorite tour of mine (I spent years managing a major heritage property in the valley and was part of drafting the World Heritage Site Management Plan) explores Ireland’s ancient turbulent history. Let me help you see the very best the valley offers in a short time while telling you lots of stories about its rich heritage.

I had a fantastic day tour of the Boyne Valley and Newgrange with John. John was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging, bringing the rich history of the area to life with fascinating stories and insights. His passion for Irish heritage was evident throughout the tour, and he made the experience both educational and enjoyable. From the ancient passage tomb at Newgrange to the scenic beauty of the Boyne Valley, every stop was well-planned and thoughtfully presented. Highly recommended for anyone interested in the region who would like a tour with an expert with strong historical knowledge .

Outstanding Tour!

John is amazing. His knowledge of Irish history from the Paleolithic to the 20th century is remarkable. I cannot recommend him highly enough! If you’re a serious student of archeology/history/mythology, John is worth every penny!
