Traveler reviews
Invisible Mount Fuji
The rating ate based purely on the basis of lunch served. This tour was booked for us as the lunch option was Indian thali. Our guide was very good , Hiro, entertaining all the way and pointed out every thing on the way to Mount Fuji, from stadiums , to brewery to every little know fact on the way. He pointed out mount Fuji on the way , we got a glimpse of it , that was the only time we saw , the closer we got the lower the clouds got. By the time we got to the stop the clouds were so low, nothing was visible. That was nature at work. All the excitement fizzled out. Onward we went to Hakone, this is where we stopped for lunch and got served this terrible lunch , we opted for tandoori chicken , what we got was 2 pieces of cold chicken , no way was it tandoori , could not even tell what cuisine it was , that terrible. There was nothing else nearby for us to buy and feed ourselves. This was pointed out to STB , but their response was this is it , no attempt to make good , we had all our tours with STB , one would have thought , seeing this there might have been an attempt to compensate , not necessarily with any money off but more by some kind if gesture to bring the feel good feeling. This was the worst part of the tour , please avoid the thali option , not good at all. Apart from this the tour was good , just hope that the weather is on your side if not that again will be disappointing as tge tour itself is called Mount Fuji but you don't get to see Mount Fuji. One would have thought a tour operator would check in tge weather forecast and take appropriate action , why take a tour with the possibility of not seeing the main part of the tour. We got there and took pictures of the sign that said Mount Fuji , our proof of visiting.
