Itinerary
Stroll through the old-growth forests near Longmire and experience waterfalls and big mountain views as you wind to higher elevations.
Short walk to a postcard view of Christine Falls.
Several waterfalls are accessible by foot along the route up the mountain! Narada Falls is one of our favorites.
In the summer, pick wild berries on a sub-alpine hiking trail. In the winter, take advantage of Paradise’s legendary snowfall (and the winter solitude) on an introductory snowshoe trail.
Paradise is home to a world-class visitor's center with interpretive information on the National Park.
An impressive waterfall in the midst of Paradise's iconic meadows, Myrtle Falls is at the end of an easily walkable trail with almost constant views of Mt Rainier's peak.
A possible stop near Paradise, Reflection Lakes are renowned for the postcard views of Mt Rainier over the mirror-like lake.
A historic area of Mt Rainier National Park, Longmire is home to its museum, bubbling mineral springs, and trails meandering through the surrounding old-growth forest. The museum is a great stop for souvenirs, cocoa, and a quick bathroom break.
Giant old-growth spruce trees clustered around bubbling mineral springs and views of Mt. Rainier's peak make this short loop trail a favorite among groups visiting the park.
Another favorite in the Longmire Area, Twin Firs boasts massive trees that tower over visitors.
Pass by: Experience views of the mountain peak throughout your day. Mt Rainier can be seen from many of our stops.

Traveler reviews
Nate is a great guide for Mt Rainier!
Nate was absolutely amazing! Very accommodating, friendly, and knowledgeable. I love Evergreen Escapes and can’t wait to book them again (today’s tour with Nate was my third EE tour!)
Caring, intelligent guide. Must see.
The guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the Seattle area and the Native American tribes in the area as well as the natural history of the park, The food for lunch was excellent and I’m a picky eater.
Very knowledgeable guide...
Very knowledgeable guide that had years of experience. Great day to see Mt Rainier. Worth your time and money.
Small group tours are the best!
Amazing Mt. Rainier tour with Marty and Claire! The guides were fun, friendly, and clearly love what they do. Great food throughout the day — breakfast, lunch, and snacks were all fantastic. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend.
Full service, educational, memorable
Fantastic day trip. Our guide Matthew is a true man of science; knowledgeable about so many facets of the trip. He was our driver, outfitter, chef, hiking and snowshoeing guide. We were in very good hands plus he is very personable. The two main activities of the day were snowshoeing at Paradise -- not too long nor strenuous; took us to Myrtle Falls (I think?) Matthew kept us safe. Then after the provided lunch, we took a peaceful forest stroll (Trail of the Shadows) at Longmire -- Matthew provided eco facts throughout to enhance our appreciation of the experience. We had moments of unstructured time and a relaxed pace. Small group size allows for that. We highly recommend Evergreen Escapes and we will choose them for future tours. Worth it!
