Meet your local guide at your centrally located Catania hotel. Enjoy the natural scenery as you are driven in a land rover up Mt Etna. Once you reach 2000 meters, where it is no longer possible to travel by car, you will continue your journey on foot with your certified Etna Alpine guide. Hike through magnificent trails along the rocky volcano side and your alpine guide will show you extinct craters. Make your way back down Mt Etna with your private guide, put on your hard hat and headlamp, and enjoy a visit inside an extinct lava cave to learn about what exactly goes on inside a volcano!

Best day on Mt Etna

It was my favorite day on the 2-week trip to Rome and Sicily, hands down. Peppe was an amazing guide for our family of 3 (including a 7-year old). So informative and fun. I am especially thankful for how he kept us safe and comfortable on Mount Etna (my daughter is a little dare devil and my husband suddenly developed fear of heights!). The itinerary for the day was a perfect mix of adventure, fun and deliciousness. Just when we thought Peppe couldn’t top our experience after Mt Etna and the visit inside a cave, the stop at the winery took everything to another level. The wine, the olive oil, the food, the sweets! The perfect way to end the day. Peppe never rushed us through any of the activities and really prioritized us having the best time and being safe. Thank you Peppe and EtnaTribe!
