Full description

Get ready for a day of fun on the Colorado River, filled with scenery and mild rapids in Castle Valley! Our full day trips give you 4-5 hours on the water, with plenty of time to take in and enjoy the landscape along the way. Meet at the Mild to Wild office to check in and get ready for the river! Your guides will get you fitted for a PFD (life jacket) and then hop on the shuttle for a scenic 40 minute drive out to Castle Valley. Once there, we’ll have a safety orientation before pushing off, and floating down the Colorado River for the next couple hours. This is a very mild rafting trip, with mostly calm flat water with a couple rapid sections sprinkled in along the way. We’ll stop for a delicious deli-style lunch on the beach, before floating into the canyon section. Your guides will share tons of fun and fascinating information about the area as you take in the views of this amazing canyon. Once at the take out, we’ll shuttle back to the office for the end of your trip.

Know before you book

  • Children must be at least 4 years old.
  • Rafting is not recommended for people who are pregnant or have underlying heart or pulmonary conditions.
  • We reserve the right to switch river/locations based on current conditions.

Know before you go

  • · Changing rooms and bathrooms are limited at our boatyard, so we encourage guests to come in their river getup beforehand!
  • · While lunch is provided on our full day trips, we do not provide snacks, so bring some along in a small bag along with your water bottle if you think you’d like to have them!
  • · Castle Valley is continuously being sculpted by wind, so expect these desert gales on your trip— particularly in the afternoon.
  • · The rapids in Castle Valley are mild and interspersed between long flat-water sections. If you want level up on the adventure and exercise, consider choosing your own destiny in an inflatable kayak!
  • · There are some logistics for the guides before and after your time on the water, so there’s some waiting involved. We appreciate your understanding in advance!

This company has excellent customer service. As we were arriving in Moab on the Canyon Spirit train without a car, they agreed to pick us up at our hotel. The train arrived a bit late but our driver texted us not to worry. Alec gave us an excellent tour of the beautiful Arches National Park. We stopped at most of the highlights and got to get out of the comfortable van and for some hikes. Alec knew a lot about the park and it's history. So much better then a crowded bus or driving ourselves ! Only problem is that now we will have to return to Moab to try some other tours with Mild to Wild.

We had a wonderful half day trip with Kiah. She was skilled in the boat, could read the river, and also a wonderful conversationalist. We’d love to do this trip again earlier in the season during peak snow melt.

The staff is fabulous! Our raft pilot Sammy K was absolutely wonderful!! She took such great care of us and made sure we had a great time!
