Reviews
I booked two separate tours with Ophorus in France during July. "Dijon Wine Tour: Côte de Nuits & Côte de Beaune Vineyards" tour was an incredible value, in large part because our tour guide and driver, Orlane, was incredibly knowledgeable and kind. Visiting 3 prestigious vinyeards/winemakers (and a few historical photo stops along the way, plus a lunch stop in Beaune), we were given great information about winemaking in France, and specifically what makes wine in Burgundy unique. It was unpretentious, relaxing, and of course, tasty. Thank you so much to Orlane for an unforgettable day. 5 stars. "Versailles Small Group English Guided Tour from Paris with Skip-the-Line Access" tour was great itself, with tour guide Nicolas being very clear, informative, and ushering our group through a very busy and hot morning at Versailles. However, after I had initially booked the tour (which meets near the Eiffel Tower), I discovered the Tour de France was doing its final race Stage in Paris the same day as my reservation. I e-mailed to request to change the date, and the rep suggested I just arrive a little early. (I'm not sure how the return trip would have gone, as roads in that area were due to be closed all day, in addition to many public transportation stops and lines.) They did change my reservation to a different day at no charge, thank goodness. The e-mail responsiveness was fast and appreciated, but I recommend checking for holidays and special events, as some French people confirmed it would not have worked to take the tour from that location during the Tour de France. 5 stars to Nicholas and our driver, 3 stars to Ophorus admin for not catching and blocking out days on the front end, that should not be offered to book. I would book a tour with this company again.
We had a fantastic day tour of Pomerol and Saint Emilion with our very knowledgeable guide, Guy. The Chateaus we visited were very impressive and the extra tips and information Guy gave us was first class. We highly recommend this tour.
Lea was a very friendly and helpful, She guided us through the charming towns of Colmar, Riquewihr and Haut Koeningsbourg castle, allowing us to explore freely and enjoy the surroundings.
Additional information
If you want to share your tour with others, you can put it on Cruise Critic. Most of the time this gives good results. You must do this yourself as we are not accepted on their site as a professional business. We accept split payment transactions by credit card.
This tour is best for cruise guests who dream of scenic villages and countryside rather than big cities. It suits couples, friends, and small families who enjoy gentle walks, pretty viewpoints, markets, and café time at a relaxed pace, with the comfort of a small vehicle and English‑speaking driver‑guide. It’s especially ideal for travelers who want an authentic taste of Provence—stone hilltop villages, local artisans, and sweeping Luberon landscapes—without having to plan logistics or drive themselves.
