Itinerary
Completed in approximately 1450 at the height of the Incan empire, Machu Picchu was abandoned less than 100 years later following the Spanish conquest of Peru. Today it is considered by many to be the new spiritual center of the world. From Cusco, you'll be transferred to the railway station to enjoy your 1.5-hour scenic rail tour to Aguas Calientes. We arrive at the Aguas Calientes station where our staff will assist us on boarding the bus to go up the winding road to Machu Picchu, amid a spectacular view of the Urubamba River and its canyon. The Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, will astonish us with its terraces, ceremonial shrines, steps and urban areas. Energy is all around us. After the visit, we will go down to Aguas Calientes town where we will take our box lunch. At the arranged time, we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo train station where our staff will wait for us to transfer back to Cusco city. The Expedition option was created for adventurous passengers seeking comfort and security without the extra frills. Departing from Ollantaytambo train station, located approximately 1.5-hours from Cusco, your journey to Machu Picchu begins! The seats have been reupholstered with indigenous fabrics, giving them a touch of local flavor. Snacks are available for purchase, as well as additional storage space for backpacks. IMPORTANT: Your passport detail is needed for the Machu Picchu Day Trip (Full name and Passport ID). Please provide your passport detail in the additional request box, otherwise the tour is not confirmed.

Traveler reviews
Our guide was a gem at this iconic site
Our guided tour began with an early morning pickup in Cusco. The VIPAC team did an outstanding job of making us feel secure, taking a group photo at every transfer point. Our guide Hector was a delight, imparting the history of the site, adding his flavour and flair for astronomy, while at the same time capturing iconic moments in photos for our group members. Circuit 1 did not disappoint with an amazing contextual view of Machu Picchu
Afternoon full day tour
We booked the late full day tour of Machu Picchu, from Cusco. We really had a great day and an amazing experience. It was all very well-organized and re really felt taken care of. We started out with one of the staff member coming to our hotel to breef us about the day. Had a nice clean minivan to the train, good seats att the train, even thoe it was the cheapest spot on the train it was a wonderfull view thru the windows in the roof. They also gave us a lunchbag for the day, with lots of diffrent food, cracers and apple, only negative is that we really didnt find a good time to eat it. Our amazing Guide Jamie met os at the station and took care of us the rest of the day, He was very knowledgeable in the inka culture and really enthusiastic about his job. He really did this trip memorable and one of the best guides we ever had - all across the world. It was really nice to visit machu Picchu at the afternoon, we found ourself almost alone on the site, and that ment really great pictures without other tourists :) We really recomend this, and ask for Jamie as guide!
Machu Pichu
GREAT - I highly recommend this Grey Line Tour handled by a local tour agency. They were very professional and going in the afternoon was PERFECT. Yes this truly a wonder not to be missed. AND our guide was wonderful as were all those who picked us up, drive us to our destination etc. etc. We were very well cared for and looked after.
