Traveler reviews
Bad company, run away.
Worst travel company I've had the disappointment of meeting. Bad experience from beginning to end. I thought closing everything together would be more practical but it was much more expensive and completely poorly planned in all respects. It's not worth it.
The agency left to be desired in all respects.
The meals offered by the agency were very bad (one of the restaurants included larva in the food), with the exception of lunch in macchu picchu. The guides were always rushing the group to finish the tour earlier, even before the scheduled time, which hampered the experience. This behavior became worse on the colorful mountain walk, since the journey was more difficult, so the pressure to finish the walk led to a person having a bad time. We passed wrong times to start the tours and check out the hotel. Guides pressed to make the evaluation during the tours and in front of them. We sent the negative feedback directly to the company and did not get any feedback.
Epic adventure
Right from the beginning to the end Viagens Machu Picchu took care of everything! Hotels and transportation was perfect. Tour guides Ana, Luz, Clara, Q and Ernesto were outstanding with all the knowledge they shared . I would do this vacation over again in a heartbeat! Machu Picchu is just amazing, something you need to see and experience in person
improve the tours
The trip was good, but the agency needs to improve some details. Before boarding, I had a Hotel Reservation divergence. They put me in a hotel I hadn't chosen. After a lot of wear and complaints, they put me in the right hotel. The tours are with guides, but not all of them are willing to explain and give us information about the place, which is a pity because the history of the place is beautiful. Another agency error is the day we were transferred to Aguas Calientes. The Guide left us at the train station in Ollantaytambo at 16:30 hs and the train leaves only at 19:05hs. We could have stayed in the village longer and went to the station at 18 hours (one hour before the train departure) but the Guide was crazy to go away and we stayed without doing Nothing for more than 2 hours. In Machu Picchu I bought two routes with Guide (circuit 01 and 02) but we had Guide only on the circuit 02 the 01 we did ourselves without any explanation.
Reasonable services. Evaluate well the cost benefit
First of all I would like to make it clear that my review is on the Agency and not on the guides of the tours carried out by the Agency in Cusco. I hired the agency to do several trips in Peru *Lima; Paracas; Nazca; Arequipa; Puno/Tititaca and Cusco). I make it clear that everywhere, except in Cusco, the tours were outsourced. So be aware that if you hire the company for tours in places other than Cusco, these tours will be outsourced. That said, I recommend you avoid any tour offered by the company in Lima. The service they outsource in the city is terrible. The city tour, 'spent' 40 minutes in a pisk shop, to try to sell us products, and left outside the interior of the Lima Cathedral (main Attraction of the city), claiming that they would not have time to do the interior of the cathedral. In short, we had to stay on our own in the center of Lima to get to know the cathedral (and I say it's worth it). The ride to Paracas, also under the responsibility of the outsourced company of Lima, was in a crowded van, dirty, dirty and very uncomfortable. The Guide, also outsourced, was bad. if you can call the Guide a person who can hardly drive and explain the attractions. Again, they take us to the store to force us to buy products. In fact, this is quite recurrent in all the tours of Lima. Not too much if this time wasted in shops, generally more expensive than the average, was not at the expense of time taken from tourist attractions that are the reason to have travelled to Peru. I reserve the outsourcers hired in Nazca, Arequipa and Puno who were, in fact, very good. In Cusco we took tours with good guides. I would like to highlight another point. On all the tours of Cusco (made directly by the Agency) guides force us to make a review, on the agency's TripAdvisor or Google. They claim it's important to them and create a pretty embarrassing situation. I realized that it is a way to manipulate the notes given to the Agency and that cause many people to choose it (it was, even, my case). U Guide came to the summit of being watching my review and realizing that I did not score 5, ask me to give 5 because otherwise he would be damaged. I do not know if this is a policy of the company or the guides themselves, but it is something very unpleasant and embarrassing, besides it seems to me result manipulation for the internet. After all, I do not recommend hiring this company for trips in Lima and for the other places it presented a satisfactory result (nothing exceptional, as it seemed to me by the ratings of 5 in google and 4.8 here on the trip). Compared with agency I hired for tour in Atacama (on another trip) and that tb has services in Cusco (Araya), the services offered by Araya do not compare with those of Machu Picchu Trips. The Araya is much better and, however, if you look at the notes, they are very similar, what I see is a distortion resulting from this embarrassment and the imposition to evaluate the company well at the end of each tour (for the tours held in Cusco)
