Livorno to Pisa by coach
A very successful trip, good value for money.
Lack of respect for loyal customers
We were not able to take our excursion because our cruise ship was not docking at the port of Livorno but at the port of La Spezia. Although the tour operator knew for at least 6 months that our ship would not dock in Livorno, they never thought it necessary to notify us that our excursion was impossible. However, we also share some responsibility since we realized the impossibility too late to cancel before 24 hours. Even so, the tour operator showed a flagrant lack of professionalism and respect toward us. As for Viator, their hands were tied and they could do nothing to help us. SHAME
Livorno/Pisa on your own excursion
This was much cheaper than the excursion the Cruise Line offered. The charter bus from the pier is $7. It takes you to Livorno. When you are getting off the bus Viator representatives in the Green Shirts are right there greeting you. They looked are name up and told us what time to be back and where to meet-up. Just enough time to do a little souvenir shopping. I definitely recommend this excursion.
Leaning Tower of Pisa
There is a walk once you get off the bus. Great experience! Just know you have a long walk to get to the Tower. It was definatly worth the money.
