Lisbon Hidden Gems Walk: Traditions, Lunch and Ferry Ride
The tour took us beyond the typical tourist spots and into the heart of local neighborhoods, where we discovered authentic traditions and stories you wouldn’t easily find on your own. The lunch was delicious and truly local, giving us a real taste of Lisbon’s culture.
Excellent Tour to Get Started in Lisbon
Martin was an excellent guide and this was a great way to see Lisbon at the start of our visit. There were 7 of us on the tour, so super manageable to be able to ask questions and get a good sense of the city. Martin took us to the Mouraria area and has us try pastéis de Mouraria instead of the more common pastéis de nata, which was such a cool way to experience something authentic. Despite the fact that we covered what I think was a lot of ground in the city (including elevation), it never seemed like it was a far walk or a hard climb. Martin covered a lot of the history of the city and its architecture including the tiles in each area. We ended the tour with a ferry trip across the Tagus and some extremely delicious seafood soup. I think the entire tour was about 3 hours (maybe less), but it went by so quickly! Highly recommend.
An excellent walking tour.
The walking was leisurely, Maria our guide was excellent, very, very knowledgeable, very friendly and ensured we had a splendid tour, with stops for coffee and cake, a beer and a very nice fish and rice lunch. I can certainly recommend this tour.
