not a true catamaran, more like a pontoon boat, no seating up top or on bow, ran out of food at lunch, no bar.
Satisfied Everyone in my Family
I tortured myself trying to pick a company for this snorkel trip. I wanted an unpretentious but not obnoxious boat; my teenage boys are easily bored and one gets seasick; not too many people; etc etc. I came across Hang Loose on Trip Advisor. They sounded good but I didn't really want to drive up to Honokohau since we're staying at Keauhou and tours to K Bay leave from here too. In the end, I was won over by the price and great combination of small (but not too small!) size, comfort, and slide/diving platform. So very glad I chose them! The crew was awesome, especially the skipper (forgot your name, sorry! 8/2 morning trip). They kept it fun and played excellent music. When we spotted a pod of dolphins as we were leaving the harbor they put on a reggae tune about dolphins getting it on that I deeply appreciated. There were about 35 guests on board. Totally manageable with two levels to spread out over. The bay was absolutely incredible. Beautiful day with calm water and insane fish. The reef was so healthy. I snorkeled for over an hour and when I made it back to the boat where folks were jumping off and going down the slide and eating sandwiches. The turkey sandwich I had was actually great. I then jumped off the platform and swam a little by the boat, and then it was time to go. It was perfect timing. We cruised more slowly along the coast on the way back and the skipper pointed out some interesting facts and features quite humorously. And then we were back and went on to a great lunch at Umeke's. Awesome morning - thanks guys!!
Epic adventure!
Our experience was epic! The crew is great! We saw dolphins right outside the harbor, a hammer head shark on the way back from Captain Cooks, and had great snorkeling. The crew is such a good time!
Hang Loose and Captain Jacob are the best.
Hang Loose and Captain Jacob and crew are the best. We had a great time. Just enough snorkeling to make us tired and hungry. The sando and fruit hit the spot afterward. The trip was fast and very informative from Captain Jacob.
Phenomenal snorkeling experience
Staff was awesome, lunch was tasty. The snorkeling was amazing, the equipment was great. We all agreed this was a do not miss experience.
