Jewish Ephesus Private Tour

A thoroughly enjoyable visit to Ephesus highlighted by our highly knowledgeable, extremely personable guide Nesli. She emphasized that she would propose different activities, but the final itinerary decisions were ours. It was a perfect blend of the cultural highlights of the area (Mary’s house, ruins of Ephesus) and a flavor of how the Turkish residents eat and live. Nesli provided the background of what we were seeing so the museum presentation, for example, reiterated the historical highlights we were already familiar with. A shout out to the tour operator in that they were extremely responsive with clear, comprehensive answers to our inquiries. Also, I admit we were hooked by the company’s promotional acumen in touting this as a Jewish tour despite the absence of Jewish sites in Ephesus- a totally accurate, self-admitted statement. It certainly distinguished this tour from others, albeit a difference with no differences. Regardless of how we chose the tour, we were extremely pleased with our decision. Nesli reiterated how much she loved her job and it was quite evident both in the attention she showed us and the respect and affection shown to her by her colleagues. In summary, Nesli and the tour operator combined to make this tour a truly memorable experience which I can recommend without hesitation.

Ulas was our guide! Absolutely amazing experience as we let him curate where we went. He made Ephesus come alive. Our lunch in a farm-to-table restaurant was most enjoyable. We went to a pottery shop and carpet weaving school which were incredible. Learning about the culture, customs and sampling the local cuisine made the trip. I cannot recommend Ulas highly enough and remember this tour without reservation.
