During this 2.5-hour your expert guide will take you to discover the secrets and the wonders of this ancient city, surronded by sturdy defence walls that were built between the 13th to the 16th century and characterised by the preserved usage of the Catalan language (and, for this reason, nicknamed “la Barceloneta”, little Barcellona).
You will see the majestic Cattedrale (cathedral) di Santa Maria, the Piazza Civica, the Church of S.Francesco with its beautiful 13th century cloister and the Church of S.Michele, with its brightly colored majolica dome.
Marvel in front of the 14th-century Torre Porta a Terra, which is all that remains of Porta a Terra, one of the two main gates into the medieval city. Then get to see Torre di San Giovanni, an impressive medieval tower now used to stage temporary art exhibitions.
And there's so much more! Alghero's animated historic centre is indeed a terrific place to hang out, beside being one of the best preserved in Sardinia.

Mario was very nice and personable. He told us about the different neighborhoods and some of the history. It was a great ride because it wasn't the "tourist trap" type of ride. And when the ambulance boat passed us, he quickly turned us into the wake, keeping us safe and dry.

This was the worst activity I booked. The guide was rude from the beginning. We understood that he wanted to wait to check on the weather but he was rude in the process. Another lady was making light of the situation telling him she understood and he was rude to her. He decided to proceed but then said they would just ride around the stand and not the actual excursion. I asked if we had the choice to be refunded as he was not acting like it was safe to proceed. When I asked about the credit he got all mad and then just said they will do the canal. Well if you’re expecting a nice ride down the canal this isn’t your tour. We entered the canal for a brief moment and then went behind it. If you’re looking for a gondola ride down the canal this isn’t it. And you don’t need to book. There are so many gondolas you can book at any time without paying the premium of a tour. This was definetly not worth the money. He was also talking about us in Italian not realizing I understood some
