Itinerary
Pass by: Halong Bay is a beautiful natural wonder in northern Vietnam near the Chinese border. The Bay is dotted with 1,600 limestone islands and islets and covers an area of over 1,500 sqkm. This extraordinary area was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994. For many tourists, this place is like something right out of a movie. The fact is that Halong Bay features a wide range of biodiversity, while the surrealistic scenery has indeed featured in endless movies. 7:45 – 8:30 am: The tour guide will pick you up at the lobby of your hotel or provided addresses in the Old Quarter to start Halong Bay 1 day tour. After 3-3.5 hours of driving, you will get to the Tuan Chau Habour. On the way, you will enjoy the beauty of Vietnamese countryside scenery such as rice fields with busy farmers working, using Vietnamese traditional methods of cultivation. Then, you will have a short break half way of the drive. 12:00 – 12:30 pm: You will be welcomed on the Halon Bay Cruise, the highlight of Halong bay day trip. Lunch will be prepared and served to you on board by the crew. While having lunch, the captain will drive the cruise around the most beautiful islets among thousands of limestone islands such as Dog islet, Incense Burner Islet, Fighting Cock Islet etc. One stop of the 4-hour cruise is Dong Thien Cung (Heavenly Palace Cave), located on a remote island in the bay. As the name suggests, the cave is adorned with fantastic stalactites and stalagmites as well as colored lights, which transforms the scene into a fairytale palace. Another activity of Halong Bay 1 day tour you could expect during the cruise is the stop at Ba Hang Area, where you could either join the bamboo boat ride or kayaking for 40 minutes to feel the Bay closer. 4:00 pm: Return to the harbor around and we will stop for one break in the middle of the way so you have a chance to go to the restroom or have a drink. 8:00 – 8:30 pm: Arrive in Hanoi city center, and you will be dropped off at your hotel. Fantastic trip to Ha Long Bay with Tung was my highlight in Hanoi. Our guide Tung was very kind, great communicator and super fun! Trip was good, guide was ok not great
The place is beautiful and everything was as described except a stop at an oyster/pearl store, but there were lots of busses there. The bus itself was uncomfortable with very little leg room. The boat ride was amazing. There was lots of food on board. I wish the guidw would have pointed out more islands than just the kissing chickens. We learned more on our 20 min speedboat ride (extra cost) than we did from our guide. The kayak or bamboo boat were included. We did the bamboo boat as well and that was fun. Surprising Cave was beyond words. I was surprised though, when I went inside, that the guide did not come with us as there were many guides with their groups inside. The drive was safe and we appreciated the bathroom stops. All in all a good day!

Awesome tour with great views
Very great experience! You have to do that tour. The tour guide Luan was brilliant and really kind. We had a great lunch at the boat with fresh seafood. After travelling with the boat through Halong Bay, we had a Kayak tour, a stop at the Cave and the island. The views were beautiful. After all we had an incredible sunset on the boat when travelling back to the harbour. Thanks for that great tour!
