Full description
Guided by an expert, this Versailles Palace tour immerses you in the history and splendour of France’s royal past. You’ll walk through the legendary Hall of Mirrors, discover the elegant Grand Trianon and explore Marie-Antoinette’s picturesque Queen’s Hamlet, gaining insight into court life at Versailles.
Your experience also includes access to the vast formal gardens, where fountains, sculptures and seasonal musical or fountain shows showcase the artistry of the French landscape. With timed entrance and a carefully planned route, you make the most of your visit as your guide brings the stories, symbols and daily rituals of the French monarchy vividly to life at this iconic UNESCO World Heritage estate.
Discover the Palace of Versailles
The Palace of Versailles is one of Europe’s most spectacular royal residences, created during the reign of Louis XIV as the political and ceremonial heart of the French monarchy. On your guided visit, you explore signature spaces such as the King’s Apartments, the Queen’s Apartments and the world‑famous Hall of Mirrors, where mirrors, chandeliers and painted ceilings glorify the power of the Sun King.
Explore the Versailles Gardens
Step outside into the vast formal gardens designed by landscape architect André Le Nôtre, stretching over hundreds of hectares. You’ll stroll past fountains, statues, tree‑lined avenues and hidden groves that became the model for royal gardens across Europe, with the chance in spring and summer to experience the Musical Gardens and Musical Fountain Shows when water displays dance in time to baroque music.
Visit the Estate of Trianon
Beyond the main palace, discover the more intimate Estate of Trianon, where French kings and queens retreated from the rigid protocol of court life. The Grand Trianon, Petit Trianon and their surrounding gardens reveal a quieter, more personal side of the royal story, with refined architecture and carefully landscaped grounds.
Discover Marie-Antoinette’s Queen’s Hamlet
Continue to Marie-Antoinette’s Queen’s Hamlet, a picturesque village‑style retreat of cottages, gardens and ponds. Designed as a romantic rural escape, this hamlet shows how the queen sought moments of privacy and simplicity away from the formality of Versailles, adding a contrasting, human dimension to the grandeur of the main palace.
A Complete Versailles Experience
By combining the main palace, formal gardens, Trianon estate and seasonal fountain shows, this tour offers one of the most complete ways to experience Versailles. You leave with a richer understanding of French royal history, from public displays of power to the private refuges of the kings and queens who once lived here.

Reviews
We had a very fun day with Matt to Mont Saint-Mitchel. Matt is an excellent tour guide & he cared for his clients very much. He's an on time person. We learned a lot about the history of Saint-Mitchel via Matt. He made sure we have enough time browsing this beautiful UNESCO. We definitely recommend friends & family this tour. Thank you Matt
Pascal was, above all, a smiling whirlwind of energy from the very start — bursting with knowledge, passion, and just the right amount of dramatic flair. He painted the horror of the Omaha Beach invasion so vividly that we could practically hear the chaos, then marched us through the bunkers at Pointe du Hoc like we were on a mission ourselves. And before we even caught our breath, he had already catapulted us back to Bayeux at invasion speed. A legend in tour‑guide form. Thanks from Croatian Team😉
Our Normandy D-Day tour was well worth it and we so enjoyed our tour guide Matt. He made the tour engaging, entertaining and informative. The tour was just the right size and a half day was perfect for us. It would have been much harder to get around to the sites and understand each without the information that Matt was constantly sharing. There was hardly a time that Matt was not telling us what/how/when of what we were looking at. Thanks Matt!
