Highlight of 29 day tour of Europe.

This was our most expensive tour, but also the most enriching. Michelle was our tour guide and she did a phenomenal job explaining the history past and present with Leonardo da Vinci and the last supper. I will never look at the last supper in the same way or Leonardo da Vinci. Our 16-year-old granddaughter who is also an art enthusiast loved every second of it and took away so much more than I ever expected. The tour was worth every dollar invested. Be sure to schedule well in advance because they only allow 40 people every 15 minutes into the room. I thought 15 minutes would be such a short time, but it’s more than enough time to capture the depth and life of the mural, because it is not crowded and you’re not fighting to get a closeup view.

Glad We Splurged!

I loved all the information we got on the history of the monastery, the history of The Last Supper and its several restorations before we entered. Our guide was also skilled in telling us why the painting is significant and brought many artistic elements to our attention while we were viewing it. It was very educational and I now understand why this piece is so important.

A masterpiece!

Well run tour with a knowledgeable guide. She shared a lot of information about Da Vinci’s life, artistic technique, and the history of Milan and the painting of The Last Supper. So glad we were able to get tickets, which are extremely hard to come by since the museum limits to small groups at a time for preservation purposes
