Amazing View of Pyramids and amazing tour guide

We booked a 2 day Cairo and Luxor trip with Book Tour Egypt from Hurghada on February 23&24. I sent an inquiry to their website with the given email and WhatsApp number. When I received an answer I was informed to send my inquiries on another WhatsApp number. It was just confusing because i was forwarded to different what’s app numbers but finally ended up with someone who was able to answer all my inquiries which took almost a week. But anyway it was worth the wait. Our first itinerary was in Luxor. We were picked up in our hotel in Hurghada and went to Luxor on a minivan and took our flight from Luxor to Cairo around almost 10pm at night. We were picked up at the airport and drove us to Nunn Pyramid which took us maybe an hour drive to our hotel. The hotel has a beautiful panoramic view of the Great Pyramid and the Sphinx from the rooftop where we had our breakfast. All the flight and transport transfers are part of what you have paid for which is really worth it. It was a private tour in a minivan. My only suggestion is that the driver who is going to pick us should write our names so it is easier for us to find the driver. We should have been informed also a day before the name of the driver who is going to pick us. The details of the driver , where he is going to meet us and our names should have been written on name tags so it’s easier for us to recognize him. And also maybe itinerary or program of the day that includes the time. But overall it was a wonderful experience. All the transfers to and from airport and hotels are included. Our tour guide named Ahmed together with the driver picked us at the hotel around 8:30 am. We started our tour at the pyramids of Giza. We rode on a camel. He knows a lot about the history of the pyramids. He is very patient with my kids . We ate our lunch in a buffet restaurant with the panoramic view of the pyramids. We went to GEM afterwards. Ahmed is very informative. He is a very nice person asking us about what we need. We ended our tour at the Bazaar where we ate our dinner. It was a wonderful experience that we will remember in our lifetime.

Museum and fantastic pyramids, tour operator no

We booked with Book Tour Egypt a day in Cairo with a visit to the pyramids and the GEM for Wednesday, February 18, departing from Hurghada airport after picking up at the resort in Marsa Alam. The experience in general was very nice, the guide in Cairo experienced, clear, kind, was all day with us explaining many things about the pyramids, the museum, Egyptian civilization and the city of Cairo. However the sore point is the organization by the tour operator. On Monday we were sent tickets, indicating the departure on Tuesday night, with no explanation as to why we were leaving at the time, no indication as to the pick-up time from the resort or who the driver was; both my husband and I wrote to three customer support phone numbers that were all online and read the messages without answering, if we called the call was rejected (it did not ring in circles without answering, the phone was just put down). This in the early afternoon; the answers arrived only in the evening at dinner time after several reminders. On Wednesday evening, when we arrived in Hurghada, the person waiting for us on arrival was in the parking lot, not inside the airport as we had been promised, and he didn't even know we had to arrive: when we told him we had to go back to the resort in Marsa Alam he didn't have our names, he didn't know where the resort was or our driver, he loaded the other members of the group into a van and left, leaving us to make do. We stayed almost an hour outside the airport, with the taxi drivers there present bothering us heavily despite saying we were waiting for the private driver, and the customer service girl who more than telling us by phone "your driver is coming" could not do anything else. I would also add that on Wednesday morning of the whole group that was with us no one knew what time the guide would pass, only us and only because we had insisted on asking for it already on Monday evening. So in general very nice experience visiting Cairo, but bad tour operator organization and absolutely to be reviewed.

7000 years ago and still standing

Unbelievable seeing the huge magnificent pyramids and sphinx’s standing in the vast desert. All the contents carefully placed within a great museum so vast in size it is also grand as the pyramids. A day is not long enough to wander tirelessly around gazing in awe at such wonderful artefacts from 1000’s of years ago.

Stunning sights, but an intense and exhausting day for families.

We booked a one-day organised trip flying from Hurghada to Cairo to see the pyramids. On paper it sounded like the perfect way to fit Cairo into a family holiday, and in some ways it delivered — but the reality was far more exhausting and commercialised than advertised. First, the positives. Seeing the Pyramids of Giza in person is genuinely breathtaking. No amount of photos prepare you for the scale or impact. The Sphinx was equally impressive, and the Grand Egyptian Museum was a real highlight — modern, spacious, well presented and easily the most polished part of the entire day. These sites alone are world-class and unforgettable. However, the structure of the tour severely detracts from the experience. It is an extremely long and intense day, starting very early and involving lots of waiting, traffic congestion and being moved along quickly from place to place. Cairo is a huge sensory contrast to a Red Sea resort and can feel overwhelming, especially for families with young children. A major issue was the number of stops that were clearly commission-based rather than cultural. The essential oils shop and bazaar felt like mandatory sales pitches rather than genuine experiences. Prices were inflated, pressure to browse and buy was obvious, and these stops added little value to the day while eating into already limited sightseeing time. It was very apparent that these locations existed to generate commission for the tour rather than to enhance the visitor experience. Lunch had an amazing view of the pyramids, but unfortunately that was the only positive. The buffet was very exposed, with flies everywhere, and it was difficult to believe food temperatures were being properly controlled. The quality was poor, and frankly a simple fast-food franchise would have felt safer and more enjoyable. This restaurant also appeared to be part of the same commission-driven structure as the shop stops, chosen for commercial relationships rather than quality or hygiene. The Nile boat trip was sold as an “optional extra”, but in reality the day’s schedule is clearly built around it. Declining didn’t feel like a realistic option, as the alternative seemed to be simply wait while the rest of the group went on the boat. That makes it feel less optional than advertised. To compound an already long day, the return flight was delayed by over four hours, turning an exhausting schedule into a very long (23hr) day. While delays are not the fault of the trip provider the inherent structure of the schedule means any delay will be particularly draining (especially for families). Our guide was knowledgeable and worked hard, but the overall tour design leaves little flexibility and feels overpacked and overly commercial. The constant sense of being funnelled through commission stops detracts from what should be a once-in-a-lifetime cultural experience. In summary: the sights themselves are extraordinary, but the execution of this day trip is tiring and heavily commercialised. Slimming the itinerary, removing sales-focused stops, improving food arrangements, and offering earlier or more reliable return flights would justify a higher price and significantly improve the experience
