Private Half-Day Graves Wine Tour from Bordeaux
Discover the historic Graves wine region and prestigious Pessac-Léognan appellation on a private half-day wine tour from Bordeaux. This expertly guided tour includes visits to two châteaux for red and dry white Bordeaux wine tastings with a certified wine expert guide. Graves is the only Bordeaux region producing world-class red and white wines from the same gravelly terroir.

Explore the Ancient Graves Wine Region
The Graves wine region is one of Bordeaux's oldest appellations, named after its gravelly soil that produces distinctive wines. Located on the Left Bank of the Garonne River south of Bordeaux, this historic region has been producing wine since Roman times. Your private tour departs at 9:00 AM or 2:00 PM from your Bordeaux hotel in a premium air-conditioned Mercedes minivan with an expert driver-guide.

Discover Pessac-Léognan home of Château Haut-Brion
Pessac-Léognan is the prestigious northern sub-appellation of Graves, home to all 16 Graves Crus Classés including the legendary Château Haut-Brion—the only non-Médoc estate in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification. The gravelly soils produce elegant red wines from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, plus some of Bordeaux's finest dry white wines from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon.

Visit Two Châteaux with Guided Tours and Tastings
This tour includes pre-booked visits to two Graves or Pessac-Léognan châteaux with guided tours of vineyards, cellars, and winemaking facilities. Each visit includes a commented wine tasting where your expert guide teaches you to evaluate wines by sight, aroma, taste, and structure. Tasting fees are included, with typically 3 to 5 wines per château.

Taste Exceptional Red and Dry White Graves Wines
Graves produces both exceptional red wines and Bordeaux's finest dry whites. Red Graves wines blend Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc for complexity and aging potential. Dry white Graves wines crafted from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon are celebrated for aromatic intensity, mineral character, and longevity. Pessac-Léognan whites are considered among the world's greatest dry white wines.

Alex was the most experienced, knowledgeable, and chilled tour guide of all the 5 tour guides we experienced. We learned a lot from him about the culture, history, and geology of the region. He also provided great context to understand the regions' wines. This tour to Cassis and the calanques was beautiful and would get a 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that this expensive tour did not include lunch. The wine tasting was good but I had better in Bordeaux and it included lunch.
